It is actually possible to give non-numerical values to generate numerical content, so I say it's safe to assume you would be able to use alphabets and other text elements such as quotation and exclamation marks as part of your seed, but please, don't quote me on this, I'm kinda stupid... ._.

well yes, but i think since it is called "coordinates" i assume that it is supposed to be a numerical value. i mean, in sci-fi books and movies, the captain usually doesn't tell the spaceship to fly to the planet with the coordinates "uber1337seed!", but rather to the planet with the coordinates "x10010200y23330154z65112432". makes more sense that way.
