don't worry dude I haven't seen them either...I've been more with the newer Doctor Who's. Nevertheless the older series do look great.

David Tennant is still my favourite :D

I love that this thread has more Who posts than non-Who.

I really liked Mat Smith (and part of it was Moffet) for a while but now I think I may like Tennant better. Rory is my favorite companion, Amy I had high hopes that got shreddeded and River is getting old. I really love Mark Sheppard tho so I hope canton is back in soon. Wondering about the new companion and will miss the centurion.

Back to the thread topic, how about some alien abduction beams (could be used for rescue NPC quests)?

LOL! Yeah, I guess Doctor Who fan-dom has expanded a lot since Matt Smith became The Doctor...But with which Doctor you like more, it really depends, if you like a more hands on Doctor or more of an enabler Doctor. 10th Doctor was more of the hands on and "Do-It-Himself" kind of Doctor while the 11th Doctor was more of an influence others to doing something.

I think this is why I love this series, not only does it focus on the main guy but with others as well. And yes Rory is the coolest companion, and then shortly after would have to be Rose and Amy :D

huh, i suppose that's pretty accurate, i really never thought about it.
I prefer Tennant over Smith and my favorite companions are Rose and Jack.

All of them. Including my favorite, "What is it!? ...AAAHHHH IT'S GOT MY FACE!!" and "Get out of there!!!" (with the option of adding, "It's gonna blow!" to the end).

    JACK!

    Rose :(

Though the way they wove Rose throughout the stories was much better than River has been recently in my opinion.

Also, why why why did the person from Planet of the Dead not join cast

the only doctor I didn't really like was the original, he was too grumpy for me  Tennant and baker I can't decide between and smith well I had to get used to him but he is awesome. on both the topic of doctor who and my original question. It would also be awesome to have a mysterious NPC that can show up randomly on any planet and have random events centered around him.

You find a civilized planet full of people, you go exploring on another planet, decide to visit the civilized planet again only to find that a strange event is occurring. Perhaps people vanishing, hostile robotic being appearing and the strange NPC and his companion seem to be connected to the event.

Maybe I'm just WAYYY too old, but I'd love my own robotic companion... a Daggit, like Muffit.

Make him around the size of an elephant so I can ride him around, he can carry my extra supplies, and I can crawl into his stomach when I need shelter on a random planet.

  18. Witness

    Witness Giant Laser Beams

    (Imperial) Space Marines.
Fanatical, very heavily armored soldiers, relentless, powerful enough to be able to face the strongest of enemies and still have a chance of winning. Double points if they're joinable faction or at least equipment/props source.

Or, at least more traditional non-WH regular soldiers-in-space, either as some peacekeeping forces of some planets, random-boarding-parties-events, mercenaries for hire etc.

    What other cliches. Hm.

Laser "pew pew" pistol battles and other short firearms.

Magic, but not necessarily as a mechanical thing. Just socio-philosophical grounds for some society's way of living or enigmatic, stealthy and never fully revealed abilities of some race. Fluff, in other words.

Slightly still in the theme, psi-ops. Again, mostly fluff-sourced psychic commando.

Apocalypse survivors. Basically guys living on a devastated planet, with very uneven level of technology and all their gadgets being very make-shift, held together with scotch tape and hope.

Androids. As in, synthetical NPC, maybe recruitable crew mates and companion which seem totally human aside from the fact their guts aren't, well, human.

Space crusaders. Big army traversing the universe fighting whoever does not share their beliefs. Be it religion, way of living etc.

Dystopia. A world or many worlds filled with grim cities and gigantic industry as well as fear-ridden and completely submissive population living in horrible conditions, with small exception of a few members of elite, leading a life of hedonism and debauchery.
