I agree with the green area. Not so much with the red. The game does infact need end game. or atleast stuff to do after you obtained/built all that hard to get gear. Building things is great but both minecraft and Terraria suffer from 'what now' problems. took less than a week from start to finish to get up everything i needed to kill all the things and have all i needed in Terraria... and i can do the same in minecraft in about 3 days. Minecraft promotes more epic construction than terraria but still a lack of things to be doing.

Starbound already has the potential to keep me busy for a month or more just with some of the content hints but it could do with a few more solid things to keep me busy once i have all the things i need to destroy everything, (course me destroying everything would take a while anyway

finally figured out what i REALLY don't want in-game,
an all items world like the ones in terraria.
that just messed multyplayer up SO much

i wouldnt like to see that you can take items with you from other games like in terraria. like in a world where everyone has low-tier stuff and then some griefer comes in with the highest tier weapons and bombs and blows everyone to pieces.

What I meant from "no endgame" is that you keep progressing while the game scales the difficulty of newly-discovered planets and chances of finding higher risk items. So that while your armor is awesome, you're still being presented with a challenge.

Oh right right yes. I would like there to still be a challenge for a long time but with all things there will be caps... what im saying is i dont want to reach that cap within the first week or month i play

this is just poor planing and letting in a troll... keep a tighter understanding of your friends and you will see a 99% reduction in trolling! with the 1% being the premature detenations that alot of people have from time to time when handleing trollsome objects

Yeah, kinda pissed me off that I took the time to make my potions (in Terraria) and then I can only use 1 per minute and it fills only 1/4 of my health, BULL-SH*T!

I disagree, if the cool loot is guarded by 20 Chimerberus' I would not enjoy it not being any better then basic gear! Also could some Mod inform me of how to merge posts here before they jam there Infraction stick up my ass?

Going to elaborate on my post saying why I hate potion sickness,
People claim it is too easy to just spam potions to be able to do as I please, but the counter argument to that is
I would have to wait to be in a safe position. It would mean I would have to be more precautionary just to play the game as an exploration adventurer.
Sure that could be fun as a choice, but if it's forced upon me it completely changes how I HAVE to play.

Now if I have to wait to heal, that is forcing me to wait it out for me to just heal,
which means I am literally cowering away possibly doing nothing. That equates to no actual gameplay going on.
To wait a full minute (terraria) while at around 10 HP and huddles in a cave waiting for either health to replenish, the sickness cooldown to go away, or the enemies to leave is just terrible for this kind of game.

A good fix for this would be to have a timer of sorts USING potions. Such as taking a full second or two drink the potion (tweak for balance).
This allows you to heal and still have the chance to be swarmed and killed.
It also adds in a few gameplay mechanics, such as (for balance reasons) having higher healing potions taking longer to use.

tl;dr: instead of potion sickness cooldowns, make potions take a bit to drink.

Yeah, I see no reason why this wouldn't work. If the battle system is skill based (like demon/dark souls) then I see no reason not to implement a drink time (like demon/dark souls).

Although, you do have a block button in this game, and it has been stated that most enemies won't do damage unless they go through an attack animation and hit you. So really, if you are at 10hp and waiting for your potion cool-down, you still don't need to huddle down, you just have to dodge/block more (which if anything enhances your gameplay, certainly no loss of gameplay). In Terraria one of the issues was that, except for in later patches where you could have massive knock back, you would get so swarmed with enemies that not taking damage was no longer an option. This was necessary in Terraria though as it required you to upgrade your armor, which required you to mine more or fight bigger bosses. So it gave the game that need for progression. I'm guessing that starbound will not need to do this. We already know that this game will have essentially an endless supply of items, so the drive for better gear is sort of assumed. However it seems like they are trying to make it slightly more skill-based as well. So, hopefully, you will be fighting a few difficult enemies that pose a challenge because they are challenging, not necessarily just that you will be swarmed with unavoidable damage so your options are just to increase your armor and health-pool.

Of course, I also hope that having a "tank" in a group of people is still in some way useful, as I enjoy that role.

EDIT: Also, they have stated that "support" is a role you can take in a group, which means that healing items exist. Which means that if you are that worried about being at high health, build as a healer.

This makes much more sense to me, instead of some sort of nebulous limit that you really can't feel you know exactly how many potions you have and when they are safe to use you can use them.

Though honestly I'm not sure how much of a use 'potions' would have, at least in the traditional style.

Zombies are inevitable. I wouldn't mind NOT haveing terraria style zombies, but KAG zombies would be nice.
