    Really?
    Cool.
    just kidding

  2. White935

    White935 Big Damn Hero

    Steampunk, vs Fantasy.

  3. cyberspyXD

    cyberspyXD Tiy's Beard

More elements to throw into random generation.

  4. Jonesy

Jonesy Sarif's Attack Kangaroo Forum Moderator

A mod to add my kangaroo race. Maybe also some sort of variant of the Malkavian Mod for Deus Ex, or even a total conversion to add a game-within-a-game set in a steampunk fantasy world that still uses the same mechanics as the main game.

Meh. Steampunk is a sub-genre of fantasy, as well as one that's done almost as often as straight Tolkien-esque fantasy. Bring me the clownpunk, the neonpunk, the whatever-you-would-call-Jet-Set-Radio, the dieselpunk!

  6. I genuinely lol'd :V
Other than that I want to see ponies!

Sorry, this just kind of bothered me, but steampunk is a sub-genre of sci-fi, not fantasy. It's true that it normally has fantasy elements but it is still sci-fi.

Also a diesel-punk mod would be really cool.

Sorry, you're correct. I tend to cling more to the fantasy parts of popular steampunk, hahah.

Ok I have a few Mods I want so here's the list:

    1) A Kingdom mod - You get to not only create your own base but recruit troops and place your friends in positions of power, you can also send your AI subjects to go out and explore and conquer new worlds, they can mine, fight, and die for you if need be.

    2) A Steampunk or Neopunk mod - These are ones a lot of people have suggested, and I just love... LOVE steampunk, and neopunk is also pretty cool.

    3) Design-a-ship mod - This is one I've talked about before and if it's not already in the game when it releases, I want to be able to make a ship a home.

    4) Design-a-weapon mod - I know they had a contest for people to draw a weapon for the game, but I want to have the ability to do that in-game using a system not unlike the one from Planet Explorers, just with pixels.

    5) Star Trek or Star Wars mod - Fanboy Levels: :yoda:

Ya, those are the mods I would want for Starbound, who knows, I might even be the one to make one of these. ;)

  10. ForsakenNoble

    ForsakenNoble Aquatic Astronaut

Oh, and also a mod that makes new dimensions, sort of like the Aether mod for Minecraft.

  11. Pizzarugi

    All of my yes.

Though realistically, that would be an extremely hard mod to pull off. All that stuff happening at once could really hinder the game in some form or another. I don't mind the idea of starting things off as a colony then procedurally landscape the planet for it to grow and become a planet-wide metropolis.

Bonus points to this mod if you also specify doing this on the surface or underground. I'd kill to see a thriving planet-wide underground network. Would also be very realistic (sorta) if you do this on planets with exceptionally hostile climates/creatures.

Ya, it would be hard, but I myself may take a crack at it, but no promises, I do have somewhat of a life outside of here. And yes, if a mod like this was attempted you would probably have to make it so you could live underground or above ground. Thanks for the input.

  13. Felonious

    Felonious Existential Complex

I would greatly enjoy seeing some of the fan-made races added to the game, compatibly. Also some kind of elevator/railway mod.

Edit: Also, some kind of ship super-modification mod that allows you to overhaul the ships you run with. I have no issue with the current system, but it's nice to see expansion.

We've got Monkey-men, Man-monkeys (humans), plant people, bird bros, axolotl adventurers, robutts, and star scoundrels. If we need any sort of race, it should either be insect/arachnid based or something abstract like the Novakid.

I would gladly accept a race of slug or mantis people.

  15. Tleno

    Tleno Spaceman Spiff

    Steaaaaampunk!!!

  16. Zair

I liiike this. Reminds me of Tribes' spike turrets and stuff.
My personal spin would be to include some as traps - popping out of the floor or the ceiling when they detect something hostile to its owner, etc. Probably a 2 x 2 or 2 x 3 object disguised as the bricks surrounding it until the top opens and a gunturret rises out.

A manual player-operated model would be nice, too.

If you want to get REALLY crafty, give any of these turrets a one-slot inventory you can chuck a spare gun into, and have it use the damage properties and projectiles of that weapon.

minor edit: spacing some numbers so they aren't automagically converted to smilies.

As mentioned in the other topic, I'd like to see a mod that puts the EVE Online ships into the game.

I think if you were to really hardly categorize, Steam Punk is more Sci-Fi and Dungeon Punk is more like its Fantasy sister genre. For those that don't know what the second is: Think Final Fantasy 6, steam powered stuff, but also magitek, regular magic, ye olde weapons, etc. Then there's like... Clockwork Punk, I think it's called? Which is like Myst, where the mechanical and brass aspect is emphasized more. Man, there's a lot of that stuff to pick from.

  19. Siloxis

    Siloxis Big Damn Hero

    Infinite Space
Let the Galaxy be REALLY INFINITE! SB is close to bute the amount of Systems seems to be restricted to a maximum.
So maybe there should be a mod that allows to generate more and more systems if someone reaches the Boarder of the map.

    Maximum FTL Distance
Restricts the FTL Engine to jump for a maximum ammount of XYZ LY, so the players will have to spend more time to travel.

  20. ChillStorms

    ChillStorms Title Not Found

A Mod that would allow you to create a planet. Would have to be end game though. Lets you choose Biome, Terrain color, Temperature, Trees, Sky color.
