I got it because my friends told me about it. Lol. But really we all played Terraria together and loved it. However it didnt go far enough and live up to its potential. This game will have everything good in terraria and then so much more. how can you not buy a game created by the cool terraria guy? Its nice to see so many ppl supporting someone who took a chance in order to make their vision a reality.

I really enjoyed Terraria for a good 400+ hours and when I had heard it stopped updating I got a bit upset because there was a lot of potential I felt was not expanded upon properly. (Yes I know about the now once again in the updating time of Terraria, but it's a bit too little too late. When I tried it out it didn't add anything new to the game play, it was just more of the same but with more stuff)

So when I heard from a tweet/update on Terraria about StarBound my heart skipped a beat and followed it over to here. It sounded close if not spot on to what I wanted from the genre, a step forward in the possibilities that can be done. The proof of concept was there, the look and feel appears very different thanks to the stylistic choices and colors (pastels taking me right back to a game called Paladins Quest).

As time went on and there was little updates I got a bit concerned, this was before they started pumping out a lot of info and at times it felt like there would never be any proof of the game, until the flood gates opened and now it's a much more transparent development. This was when I decided, the moment the game goes up for perorder, I shall get it. The more honest they where about the systems they wanted in place, and what sort of generations and possibilities to be had, going beyond my original thoughts of their proof of concept, the more confident I am about my preorder.

I'm not going to call it hype though, because I am still concerned about many things and how certain aspects that have been shown will be executed. I trust it the same way I trust Dark Souls 2 or Dragon Age Inquisition, with careful eyes and watching the every move, but still willing to take that gamble and preorder.

Pretty much nothing in particular actually. I've been extremly happy for pre-orders because if there were something I feared it was the notion that the game would release and I would not be able to buy it right away.
I knew this game is for me, I canme here from terraria forums one the first announcement about starbound appeared there so it was a nobrainer for me.

as simple as it gets and, despite people hating the term, its "terraria in space" up a few notch, whats not to like ?

Because it looks fantastic. The amount of things in the game before we can even play it is incredible in itself, AND they are gonna keep developing it heavily for one year after the FULL release. The dev's are committed which is a great plus to a great looking game.

Took alot for me not to, but I more or less got burned out of $25 on a early access game on steam, that is nowhere near done. So I'd rather not do that again.

Let's see, I first learned about Starbound through Terraria forums. I love this type of game, I think I have somewhere near 400 hours on Terraria, and this game adds SPACE to the game.
Now, I will expand my tyrannical rule and lemon orchards accross the GALAXY.

When I saw Tiy of Terraria fame was making the game I wanted Terraria to be, I was on board. I still remember the heady days of "maybe a beta in summer 2012".

This game will be many times more powerful than the already good game Terraria, it's gonna last a hell of a long time, it's gonna have insane Bang for Buck value, I get to be a Robot, (Glitch FTW!!!) I get to use Axes as Weapons, (I still pray they'll get to actually be strong, as they should be. No kneeling down under the heel of those damnable Swords! :viking:) & the Dev Team is awesome!

I rarely Pre-Order Games... so that's a testament to how highly I think of Starbound & its Prowess & Potential.

As a student I could only afford the $15 basic pre-order. I paid to help game development
as the game has a lot of potential and I want Chuckles to be able to make the game as
great as it can be so myself and others can enjoy an amazing game.
