    2 options most likely:
    • A shifter(obviously) - my bio-engineered body changes it's shape to adapt to almost any situation. I can turn into a spike-shooting lizard if i need range, or a large and vicious bear if i need a slow, but tough fighter. Or perhaps a lion if i need speed and horrible damage. If i need to sprint i turn into a peregrine falcon. This also allows combos - like swooping down on your prey as a falcon and then changing into a lion, creating a deadly pounce. But adaptable isn't the only thing to be said about a shifter. A shifter can not only changes his form, or he would be known as a shapeshifter. A shifter can also shift through space(teleport) and time(speed-up and slow-motion) and also change his form into something else - like gas. Alas, this power comes with a price - eventually, a shifter always goes mad if he stays in another form too long at one time and becomes a simple animal with only hints of a human mind. If he stays in a form of gas or some other matter too long, his conciousness starts fading slowly, as does the gas, until his mind shrinks too much to understand what is happening or how to shift. Then it dissipates. A shifter is also a solitary person because his shifting slowly changes him. For example each time you change into a lion, you become slightly more prideful. And the changes are permanent. And who would want to be with someone who you can like one day, but after a month would be a completely different person?

If that is not an option and i would have to choose something simpler:
    • A dual-sword(or a 2 handed sword) wielding warrior. The sword can also be replaced by a spear sometimes. A blademaster - fast as lightning with razor sharp blades. I don't take hits, i either dodge them, parry them or step back at just the right time. I don't invest in armor, i throw everything to increase my damage using those blades. This way i don't need to worry about defence - i just kill them before they can touch me. Also, i am honourable and bring justice where i go. I am neither good nor evil, or perhaps a bit of both.

Its so amazing i cant believe it.

  3. Imnotdavis

    Imnotdavis Big Damn Hero

WOAH, Prototype, that was one amazing game...Even though I don't know if it would make it a play style, this would be more like a class, which starbound isn't going to have...

There might be a rare or powerful item or gem to allow us to shapeshift :V

Well, if all the suggestions did get put in this game, this game would be worth 100$ and come out in 2 years.

It could be an upgrade in a lab. Or an item as you said. I made a suggestion thread:
    http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/self-engineering.8534/

I don't think it would even be that hard to make. They make monsters out of separate parts. So why not let us make our units the same way?

Besides, i know a real shifter(the kind i wrote about) would be too hard to make. That's why i added a second option of what i would be.

  7. Oath

    Oath Subatomic Cosmonaut

I typically roll my face on the keyboard until everything dies in a fire.

Really though I'm a dabbler. Melee? You can bet I'll be running into the fray. Ranged? You can bet I'll be runnin' and gunnin'. Science, stealth and taming pets? I'll be doing all of it. I hate restricting myself to one play style, I need to try it all :) I'm a Jack of all trades, master of none.

  9. Lugubrious

    Lugubrious Scruffy Nerf-Herder

Getting behind the enemy in any way(jetpack, drill;cloaking,oh especially cloaking) and then deploying robots to surround them. And it wouldn't just be limited to just deploying things from the sides of them.(Mines and drills people.Mines and drills.)

    So I guess I'm a scientist/other?

  15. Vaeros

    Vaeros Void-Bound Voyager

  18. Sizzle
