    Well, what will it be?

Will you be a mighty and savage Warrior, who leaps into combat wielding sword and shield, to decimate enemies up close?

Or a swift Gunman, who stays back and with unparalleled accuracy and dexterity, hit a target in one shot?

Maybe a industrious and adaptable Scientist, who watches, collects and learns. But when the time comes to fight, he creates vast robots who decimate any who stand in his way.

Considering that Starbound will be set in the future, you can't expect typical RPG-like items. So say good bye to the mages and archers of games past. New strategies and play styles will have to be developed. These are just three ways one might play the game from what I've seen of the game so far. Will you be like on of them, or will you be completely different? Post your thoughts below.

How I usually play, I run up and kill whoever I can while attempting to heal my teammates (weird combination) normally using melee weapons or light guns. I'm guessing how the healing will work is that you would have to give someone a healing potion but I'm hoping (since I didn't like the throwing stuff to heal them in Terraria) that there will be some sort of medi-gun.

Since there are vehicles in this game I'm hoping that you would be able to shoot from the vehicle or at least with the vehicle which is how I usually come in first person shooters. I know this is a 2D game and there isn't a 100% possibility of being like that but hopefully you can have normal land vehicles either way.

  3. Taso

I usually play the class that is considered the hardest/most advanced class to play.

Perhaps the vehicles will have customizable weapons/tools, allowing for one arm on a mech to have, say a healing spray, and have the other arm have a machine gun. This would let players be very flexible in their game play (I think so anyway.)

I'd be a combination between Scientist and Gunman: When going into battle, I'd use the high-tech rifle I'd developed to destroy my enemies.

many games use the title "engineer" for what i like playing.
setting up support techs (turrets, robots, drones and such) while gunning down with an assault rifle.

of course starbound wont have such balance, so im probably gonna set-up robots and turret while laying heavy covering fire.

id like if starbound had some sort of flying, exploration drones you can use

I prefer to go with the flow, meaning usually whatever the game throws at me. Though, most of the time I would prefer to stay home and build :'D But while exploring I'd probably go melee.

I actually think they said something about being able to customize your ship but I'm not completely sure about mechs even though I would still want a more practical vehicle like an ATV instead of slowly walking with a mech (unless the mech had rocket boosters :DD)

Usually, when it comes to combat, I try to be balanced, but it also depends on the situation. I usually used ranged weapons, but I also love to use blade weapons, especially ones that are even bigger than a person.

It does have 2 weapons in each hand, of course the big sword would be 2h, the assault rifle would be 2h but you could have an SMG in one hand and a sword or a throwing knif in the other hand. I sometimes like to fight with a pistol and a sword in some games if I ever get that option.

Yeah, then you get to choose whether to blow up their security systems or hack them.

Hmm, blow up the security system, hack their money accounts, blow up the people, send a nuke toward their base and you're done.

  20. A.N.T.I.

    A.N.T.I. Spaceman Spiff

I am a land exploring android that navigates land through any means necessary, but when it comes to combat I study creatures through their attacks, depending on whether or not I intend to kill them.
Or for short "Android Navigator of Terrain Intelligence." Or for shorter "A.N.T.I."
Or for slightly less short but more to the point, "A sciency warrior with guns. (And a sense of humor)"
