Except for the potatoes part, I totally agree.

Perhaps a further complicated improvement on the traps, circuits and switches seen in Terraria.

Perhaps there's hope for me, after all!

I hope that there is enough new things to keep my attention for months. I want to actually explore other players worlds and invite others to share in mine.

People should quit saying "Quality over quantity". That's not always a good thing.
Would you rather eat the most delicious... steak? and then eat nothing for the rest of your very short, painful life? Or perhaps eat decent steaks for the rest of your life and live much more longer?

Saying "Quality over quantity" doesn't get you invited to the cool kids' table. :p

My biggest hope is that there will be NO MEMES, and NO REFERENCES. Period, at all. Unless it's something incredibly subtle, even if it was something I enjoyed I would not wish it upon someone else to have it infiltrating the games that they enjoy

You do realize I said quality OVER quantity, not quality INSTEAD OF quantity, right?

There's a difference? You would still be saying quality is better than quantity.

quality is better then quantity... would you rather be living in a mud hut with only fire heating or concrete, drywall and a furnace.
edit: excuse me a mud mansion with a bonfire.

Would you rather have an epic weapon that does 9001 damage but no more content besides that? Basically, you would have an image of a sprite in your face.

except your metaphor doesn't really apply as there will be high powered weapons and there will be many animals to cook up in starbound for all the steaks... so yeah. You could build a giant mud hut with lots of fire pits if you want I guess. It is much easier to make fake(digital) quality then real anyways.

I'm not really worried about the replay-ability. Terraria gets old after a few hours but I still play it and I'm about to break 400 hours. :3 Only difference is it seems like Starbound is going to have more content so I'll most likely be getting double the ingame hours. I'm hoping for smooth combat or movement.

    It was a hypothetical.
I never directly mentioned Starbound. What? You actually think there's a human on Earth that believes Starbound will only have a sword sprite shown in their face? :lolwut:

One big megaserver in which anyone, if so inclined, can join and generate their own starting world where they can travel to other people's planets and visit them. Of course there would have to be some rules.

-Starting worlds should be immune to griefing/changing of the landscape and player items by other players.

-Generation of worlds should be limited to one per person, but it would be cool to be able to preview the world you generated so you can trash it in case if you don't like it.

Player made chests/storage lockers should be indestructable if they are locked/password protected.

my biggest hope on starbound is that they don't give up on it I don't mind if after its released they forget about it though because just like terraria it will have so much content that it wont be a problem I was busy with terraria for months before actually caring that they gave up on it starbound is probably going to keep people going for much longer than a year

    1. Really Good Content Generation. For example, i don't want planets that are exactly the same, or anything exactly the same.
    2. Able to live normally. Not everybody wants to always battle-battle-battle. I personally prefer to try to make a living. I would mostly stay on one planet ( i would call it Home ) and explore the others for opportunities
    3. Director Mode. I would really like to create some worlds that i can do ANYTHING. Just like a creative mode for Starbound, except YOU do the events and stuff.
    4. Able to colonize, obviously.
    5. Oh, and, i would like some.. "hostile" colonies on planets ( that is not very advanced in technology ) that we can become friendly with them, and live with them. That would be perfect for me.

Lots of things to discover. Being general here, I enjoy finding new stuff.
One of my favorite things are items that give your character new abilities, and the ability to mix and match stuff for a cool combinaion of abilities.

You're trying way, way too hard to argue. Just to...argue it seems. If you sat for a moment and thought about it and stopped putting words in my mouth, you'd realize that you can have BOTH and that I never said you cannot. It's incredible, really, that that's possible. But given the priority of the two, while both exist, quality will always, always win. And it always should. Your idea of quantity vs. quality you seem to illustrate would have everything be super mediocre. As if there was a need for compromise. Quality IS better than quantity so long as quantity is not far behind. Got it?
