What is your biggest hope on Starbound?

I look forward to traveling the 'Verse' with my friends and bring a little civilization to these untamed worlds! Stay Shiny!

 

My biggest hope is that besides being another 2D sandbox game, that it has nothing to do with Terraria and doesn't feel at all like it. I already played that game and it's pretty mediocre.

 

Doesn't feel at all like it? Doubt it.

My hope is that I really enjoy exploring and wandering through the Starbound universe. Just from watching videos I can see myself really being immersed in the environments and etc.

 

More then likely it will feel like a very polished, with a LOT more freedom, and variety. It is still a 2D sandbox game as a base, so there is bound to be some feelings of similarity. I have told people that Terraria vs. Starbound will be a "Same but different" kind of experience, and you can not get away from that. At their core they are the same thing, but the true value is in the details.

 

by director mode you mean like making your own story and things? or is it more complicated? is there another game that has this mode i can compare to your idea?

That it releases in 2013.

Everything else looks great, no need for big hopes.

 

Having a game that I can play multiplayer with friends (especially Kimmi, as she can't play Minecraft as it makes her seasick)

Lots of adventures with friends!

Everything I've seen so far makes this game Somewhat More Advanced Space Terraria.

I mean you take Terraria, add stairs, and make the water a little more advanced, and you have what we've seen from Starbound so far.

Of course, that just means Starbound has been-out-a-few-years Terraria's basic content before Starbound is even in public beta, which is a good sign.

buttloads of content. Playing the new terraria update made me realize starbound won't have may not have as much content per planet.

You seem so sure of yourself, you must have played Starbound! The way I see it, I prefer quality (Starbound) over quantity (Terraria) anyway.

 

Juice Box hopes for some type of complex machinery that the player can program, (in the full release, not beta), so Juice Box may make his planet completely dedicated to farming potatoes... 24/7/365/forever.
