What is this?

I was playing starbound with my friend and I saw some weird things. I was building on a world that I wanted to live on and I suddenly saw myself running around, it even had my name but then it just became a black figure that still had my name. I would also like to point out that I play without mods, and the items that I have that cannot be obtained normally I got while playing in admin. If someone could tell me what just happened I would be very grateful.

 

assuming youre on steam... how many people that are in your friends list also have starbound? its possible that they joined you... that or (althoughy not sure if its possible) someone in your friends friends list that has starbound mightve joined them?

that or someone mightve typed random ips and found you and joined and either copied your character through some form of hacking or are using mods that are semi compatible with vanilla, causing it to imitate your character

other than that not really sure

 

I did not have any friends on that had starbound except the one you see in the picture, and we were on a server that requires you to have Mismatched assets off.

 

Maybe it is somekind of bugs. I have experience similar things like yours, but it happen on my crew. One of my crew duplicated themselves and I got confused which is the real one.

So it didn't occurs again after the next time you play the game, right? Well, I think, it is a bugs made by the game, because mines occurs until the next time I play the game.

 

Sounds like a lag/bug issue to me. Do you run a separate server GUI like PenGUIn for example? Also what is your internet speed?

 

I do not run a separate server GUI, and my internet speed is about 100-300 kb/s.

 

I am willing to bet your internet speed is causing latency issues, has your friend ever reported you moving slowly or lagging on screen?

 

No, because as I said we were on an actual server, and he saw it too. Although no one had joined the server but us.

 

Have you tried to contact the host to ask if this has been an issue for anyone else?

 

The server we have been playing on is dead, and is only living on borrowed time. I doubt anyone could find the host anymore. TO answer your question no, I have not.

 

I still get shivers when I think about it... could it be... Starbound "Herobrine"?

 

I am fairly certain that it is not The Ghost In the Machine.

C'mon guys, there are no ghost in Starbound, or even a "Herobrine". It's all made up and that's just the think in your mind (I can't believe, I just post this when I watch a horror movie, what a coincidence).
