What is the difference between Stable and Unstable

    Theres three versions of starbound. Stable, unstable and nightly.


    The nightly version is updated all the time, it happens automatically as the devs change stuff. Since its constanty changing its often broken, buggy and imbalanced.

    Every once in a while when the devs reach what they consider to be a good point they carry over all the stuff thats somewhat finished from nightly to unstable. Then some time is spent doing bug fixes and a bit of polish in the unstable version.

    Once its sufficiently bug free and polished they move the update from unstable to stable.


    So, nightly is allways updated and has all the new stuff, but its often buggy/broken/etc, highly adviced to stay away from this version if you wanna play normaly. Unstable is a mid between point between nightly and stable where they iron out bugs and does a tad of polish. Stable is rarely updated but its in a much better shape then the other version not having as many bugs and in general being more polished and more balanced.
