What is Starbound being developed in?

    The language is C++ like BastianHawk said.
    They use SDL and OpenGL as the interface and renderer.

    As mentioned, C++, however, I suspect XML, Lua and their own "markup" language are also used.

    I imagine it depends on what sort of mod tools we get, as well as how in-depth you want to go with it.

    Well i hope there's no pixel shaders involved, my PC gets a seizure when it has something higher then 2.0.
