?

Do you think we should get for finding every species?

Likely they will add new parts and such a rate to make this impossible, as every new single part multiplys how many monsters there are, add one new pair of legs and 10000 more monsters can be made.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure that not even the game would realize that you've "seen them all".

If the total amount of combinations reaches over 4,294,967,296 different combinations (for 32 bit), the game won't be able to handle registering that many different monsters if you wanted it to count the amount you have seen. The same thing happens with Minecraft, going out further than 2,147,483,648 blocks to the north/south/east/west from center is impossible since the game can no longer handle values larger than that (since the game lets you go both north and south or east and west, you can only go half of the 4,294,967,296 blocks from the center since the other side shares the value).

Remember when that crazy professor asked you to get two of every monster in the world, and build a gigantic ship to house them all, and nothing ever happened?

Me neither, but I'm fairly sure you can't get every monster ever in existence.

You'll think you've seen them all, and then twenty minutes later you'll see another new one.

Since there are about a million, monsters seem to have only one kind spawn on each planet and we estimate the day/night cycle to be 20 minutes for each planet and all mobs spawn at night, it would take more then a lifetime without counting repeats.

IF there is genetic engineering, and the cost of engineering is not too large, wouldnt the process be sped up a ton? because you can make the ones you havent seen yet?

Well, I suppose you CAN count every monster with genetic engineering, just as you CAN possibly count every grain of sand on every beach everywhere with advanced machinery. It's possible, but I wonder if it is plausible, even with advanced "counting machines".

I personally don't think even the Devs would pull such a feat of legitimately seeing all of the monster combinations in the game's existance.

Now, if you were to somehow get your hands on an elder scroll... :D
