Do you think we should get for finding every species?

I was wondering, since we record found monster species. Do we get anything for finding every monster species, not with all the generated colors and parts just the monster. For example a Pokemon type diploma that signifies your accomplishment, we could get a special symbol next to our character in-game. Or do we get a pat on the back. What do you Starbounders think?

You brag, and then realize you just wasted your entire life and that at least 8 different members of the opposite gender expressed extreme interest in you, but you blew them off because of your quest. You earn the title of "Forever Alone".

They are randomly generated they could have endless (well you can't of infinite of something, but you know what I mean) monsters, it would take a very long time, I don't think it'll happen that's one of the reasons I like starbound so much.

Finding every last monster in the game would take an eternity. Maybe it could just keep track of how many kinds you find and reward you appropriately--at 50, 100, etc. It could provide some incentive for exploration I suppose.

    Randomly generated monsters....
While there is a monstercap, I assume new pieces would be added periodically?
Thus there being no "limit" technically, to the monsters?

Perhaps the game could have achievements and titles. even though it would take forever to see all of the possible monsters, It could give you an achievement for when you find a certain amount of monsters and give you a title related to it. You could chose your character's title based on what achievements you have made. Like if my character's name was "Dick Chappy" and I had an achievement where I discovered 50+, 200+, 500+ different herbs/plants, I could equip the title "the Novice/expert/master herbologist" respectively. It wouldn't give bonuses and it would be all cosmetic. So If I did discover 500 different plants and equipped the title, I would be "Dick Chappy the master herbologist".

You get to help the Devs design your own race.

Note that your Starbound must send out a message to the devs, which includes a timestamp of every sighting of a new race.
Entries with "Suspicious" amounts of time between each combination sighting (IE : all spotted at game-time 0:00), and all must be spotted in one Instance of the Universe.

Isn't it procedurally generated? As in it's pretty impossible to find all of the monsters?

It's "pretty much impossible", yes. Here's the thing though- someone MIGHT just be able to get lucky or stubborn/lifeless enough to see every single variable. So, I'm just sitting here with some other folks poking fun at the idea.

We could use a little math to determine about how long it might take to see every single mob. I am not sure how many mobs/parts that Starbound will have upon release, but I can make a little scenario with a realistic amount of mobs. Lets say that there are 10 different types of mobs. Each of these mobs is made up of 4 different parts. Each of these parts has 12 or so different variations. To get the total amount of possible mobs, you would then have to multiply 10 x 12^4. This would result in 207,360 different possible combinations of appearances for mobs, not including color. Now, lets say that on average a mob will spawn every 10 seconds across the total amount of game play. 207,360 different mobs x 10 seconds per mob / 60 seconds per minute / 60 minutes per hour = 576 total hours. This, however, would be the amount of time it would take to see every mob IF you never saw any of the mobs you previously discovered. So 576 hours would be the bear minimum amount of game play time it would take to see every single different mob, but most likely it would take far longer due to repetition of mobs. It could potentially take years of in game time to fully discover every different creature, not including color. If the creatures could be made up of 2 different base colors and there were 50 different colors on the palette, there would be 518.4 Million combinations of appearances which would take a minimum of 1.44 million hours of gameplay, or about 164.38 years of gameplay.

Sorry if this sounds like rambling, but I like numbers. :)

Considering that if you code something to be randomly generated, given a couple of random details, with an almost endless color spectrum, it would be slightly impossible to see every single mob/monster. Unless you dedicate your life, and many other lives, somehow, to finding and seeing all of the monsters, you won't see every monster, because they are all randomly generated.

Lol if the colors weren't based on a 50 palette scheme and instead on rgb, the total amount of monster combinations would be:
    255 x 255 x 255 x 2 x 10 x 12^4 = 6.8766278 x 10^12 different combinations.
It would take a minimum of about 2.180 million years to see that many mobs (assuming on average you see a new one every 10 seconds). If you used a mod to spawn a mob every 0.01 seconds instead of every 10 seconds, it would still take ~ 2.180 thousand years, which would be a bit under 100 generations of a family.
