What happens when a giant meteor hits a village

I was fooling around, looking for a place to call home when I happened upon a large Glitch village. It had everything I was looking for, especially deep in Delta Sector. Luckily, I had my Doom Lord's armor on when it hit. It was so big and fast, all I know I was underground and pieces of the Glitch guard tower were blown everywhere. Many villagers and guards died, and one of them tumbled into the crater with me. I didn't even take any damage, but I had to drill my way out of the rubble with my diamond drill. That rock is very hard. Evidently, it was time for me to leave, quickly!!

Oh, I stared at both pictures each a few times, thinking I was supposed to figure out what is different in each one. Was that the intent? If so, I failed and found none, other than that one is a different file size.

 

Just perspective. Usually a crazy, unexpected event like that happens on rare occasions, especially in the middle of a village. I just took two images for the fun of it.

 

They both look the same though.

I saw one hit an avian village, took out the house it hit entirely... except any blocks in the background remained, much like OP's pictures. In my case though, all NPCs including myself that were caught in the blast and fell in the crater took zero damage. Then, being the bird people they are, they're happily jumping in and out of the crater like it's a playground while I'm trying to wrap my mind around what just happened.

 

Exactly. This thing happened so quickly, it was scary. Imagine you are hopping happily along, and you see a huge...? a shadow for a split second, and wham!! you and everything around you is reduced to nothing inside a deep, nasty crater. It truly freaked me out. Something I will never forget, and I will be looking up on every other planet I visit.

 

This just happened to me the other night when we were recording, I totally freaked out. It hit our base and destroyed half of it. This video clip is unlisted as it's going to be in an upcoming episode in our series but I want to share it. Crazy stuff!!
