Well, most people don't just buy one blueberry when they buy blueberries. Blueberries aren't actually the size of your head, it is a berry after all So if we had our own shop to run, I'd imagine people would buy, like, 50 blueberries at the same time. If not more. Same goes for most crops, people don't just buy 1 potato, they buy a kilogram of 'em. Etc etc etc. But eh, I'm happy we don't have to run a farm shop. Never been the biggest fan of shop management games.
I always seem to think of the crops not as single items but as 'units' that have some plausible relation to the type of crop. That's not a single blueberry, it's a 'unit' of blueberries, maybe a pint, maybe more. Of course, that depends on how big the crop would be in real life (The pumpkins are probably individual) and how the icon for it looks. It's a bit of mental fuzzy math that makes selling a 'single blueberry' for 80-120 G somehow seem like it makes more sense.
I bet Mayor Lewis steals blueberries from each shipment that has them. I guess that's alright though since I have put in 150 stones in there at some point, also fish which he doesn't like.
I've been known to toss junk and trash into the bin just to get revenge on the game for giving it to me in the first place. >u<
I did that at the start of the game because it was much faster to throw it in with the fish. Luckily people can't give us reviews on our farm in game. "-Blank- farm is terrible, I got some broken glass and algae in my shipment of strawberries." "I found a can of Joja cola in anchovy I bought"
They kinda can actually. If you sell your products directly to Pierre then the villagers will sometimes tell you about buying it from him and depending on the star quality it will either be a positive or a negative comment.
I rarely sell directly to merchants either, other than Clint during a geode cracking session, but I saw it happen a couple of times in let's plays on YouTube so I try to sell gold star crops to Pierre if I have to go see him anyway. It is pretty interesting to see what the villagers have to say about the stuff they buy from Pierre The funniest comment I've experienced was when Sam, who I was married to in that save, said he bought something for Jodi to cook xD
First: you mine gold from the mine, but you cannot get coins from gold, in the other way than selling it. Second: gold bar is worth 250 gold pieces. How much single gold piece is worth on real money? Third: there is only one farm in the valley, your farm, you can sell your goods only to a small group of shopkeepers (Desert? It's a sister of one of the people from town!) Conclusion: Your goods feed whole town for an illusion of richness! They sell small part of it to provide you with seeds via Pierre, but everything else they share and eat. Why Luau is so important to them? Shared soup? They were eating like this for years before you came. Why Pierre is so angry at Jojo Mart? Because they are the sinkhole for the gold and food. The gold must flow in closed circuit. You are food producing slave for whole town. The best: have anyone seen gold pieces? There is only some number, you can have millions of gold pieces with you in the mines! There is no gold in those pieces, only virtual money on your account in secret sheet maintained by Lewis. PS. Have anyone thought that whole town is dead? And this is afterlife? Even Kent „came back” from the war. puts on tinfoil hat
That's true. I had the towns folk complain about common mushrooms, and they praised the blueberries since they were gold quality. I guess it's the people of the other towns, and Mayor Lewis that have to deal shipment nonsense from my farm.
It's obvious! Lewis takes all the stuff you put in the bin for sale and offers it as a peace offering to Jas the Demon. Fortunately Jas is easy to please, but if you don't ship anything 5 days in a row, you get a message... *Jas is getting dismayed at your lack of effort. Please ship something today or she goes ballistic...* And no one wants a demon-child going ballistic
More lucky than anything, i did not expect that to happen, i just grabbed stuff to sell to Pierre and the day afterwards Penny said that.
That's neat . I have to try it sometimes I wonder if Willy and/or Clint have the same feature, since I mostly sell my fish to Willy? I haven't had any villagers commenting on it yet.
So far i have seen Alex and Lewis comment on the produce. Lewis would say that he bought a Bok Choy from Pierre that was top quality (cuz of gold star) and that Pierre told him that he got the crop from his backyard and that Lewis didn't know that Pierre was such a talented farmer. I still love Pierre regardless, lol. Wouldn't it be great that you selling him quality stuff would actually made him harder to beat during the Grange competition?
I gotta admit I got a little offended when I heard about Pierre taking credit for my work xD I grew that crop! Still don't hate the guy, though.
