    spekor Aquatic Astronaut

I dunno if its been mentioned, I've seen it sort of mentioned.
I'd like to see a couple more NPC races, and a Faction system.
I'd like to see several factions too, just not one per race. Like multiracial criminal factions, or corps.
    Pirate gangs, religious cults, etc

  2. Lelouch9796

    Lelouch9796 2.7182818284590...

Easier way to split stacks. Tech that can point the direction to ore for easier location. Minimap with the ability to set specific markers for places you want to look at more closely later.

  3. ~Drax~

    ~Drax~ Pangalactic Porcupine

Deeper space exploration, like mentioned before. Making the planets more alive, more secret spawns underground. Improved UI customization, and ship upgrades. And of course stargates.

  4. Bearo

    Bearo Contact!

Stargates for worlds and servers are already in the "The Future of Starbound" message Tiy left.

  5. Bearo

    Bearo Contact!

    1. More interaction with npcs (including merchants being revamped and some type of colony or familey system
    2. Vehicles completed
    3. More set pieces or random events
    4. Shrines being useful
    5. Megabuster
    6. Rainbow Octopus Power Armour

  6. ImmortalFear

    ImmortalFear Scruffy Nerf-Herder

Features that "should" already be in the game by the time it is officially released:

    custom space ships.

pet system that is more fleshed out.

environmental hazards, for example, blizzards to sandstorms.

balanced tools of every sort, from mining, to combat.

extended and balanced out sectors (should have 10 sectors by release)

user friendly-ness of gameplay, ranging from keybinding to lore.

more building materials (obsidian fortress for the win! (damn you minecraft!))

NPC interaction, ranging from mere conversations, to ethical decisions. (like killing a villager)

and the list goes on and on...

on to things i would like to see in the game:

tiered shields, that goes from generic, wood/metal shields, to the very exotic (and star wars like) force fields.

more ranged weaponry, for example, an SMG (submachine gun).

creature creation system involving genetics of natural or modified sources (thinking spore but further in depth).

weapon mod creation system, for example, want a scope on a shotgun? illogical but who cares!

a template or a grid overlay on screen to make buildings of large scale easier to manage (maybe a grid system overlay?)

the ability to make a base in any environment possible, provided the tech required is unlocked, for example: want a base near the surface of a gas giant? got anti-gravity, and anti-crushing technology? sure!

the ability to convert one object into another, for example: want a helm but accidentally crafted a chest piece? transform that chest piece into a helm, or another example: got thousands of cobblestone, but need thousands of obsidian? convert it.

being able to craft your ship's teleport pad, and link it to your ship (and/or a friend's ship) to place it anywhere you see fit to allow the user choose from a list of linked and known teleport pads to use them to teleport to where ever they are at (provided the layer they are on, isnt to deep or to hostile/unique to prevent the usage of such an item)

being able to craft specialty items that changes the gameplay of the character, for example: a single use goggles that reverses the character's vision so your character can see at night or dark locations, but cannot see in day or bright locations.

a mini map system, but it is treated as an equipment or a tool, your first map is your standard paper and pencil map, that actively updates as the user explores, to high tech maps that uses techniques and shortcuts to automatically map out your terrain in a certain radius, ranging from radar/sonar techniques, to other methods i cant think of right now.

and thats all i can think of right now.

    TheSpoon Big Damn Hero

I really really want to see spelunking and just underground be a lot more fleshed out.

    Lelouch9796 2.7182818284590...

Would really like to see priority placed on key-bindings. I'd love to use the L/R slots but hitting X to switch to them has actually been too hard on my laptop to do. If I could change it to center mouse button, I'd be able to make good use out of it. Also, I'd really like that annoying 1.5 second delay between equipment switching to go away...

    tre288 Scruffy Nerf-Herder

"sheathing" weapons/shield, similar to pressing X to switch from L/R to whatever you had selected previously, but a specific button to cause your character to not hold out their weapon and/or shield.

I like to walk around unarmed, but its really annoying to have to try and make room for ONE empty space in my hotbar up top, and if I have a shield in the L/R slot I need to manually unequip that. If I pick something up along the way, it then goes right into the empty slot I just made room for.

It's a hindrance on my immersion when I walk into a town with guards telling me to put my weapons away, and there I am having to stand around to try and make room to allow myself to walk around truly unarmed.

  10. Rhyperion

    Rhyperion Space Spelunker

    - Better ships (editable ships)
    - Better beds
    - Better furniture
    - Pet Cats
    - Pet Dogs
    - Flying Cats
    - Lava planet
    - Dying star planets

  11. Tamarama

    Tamarama Guest

More electronics, and for logic gates to be moved to the wiring layer.
    A simple creative mode.
    Gravity.
Long term? I'd like to see them add one or two races that are intentionally harder to play, to give more skilled players a more difficult challenge.

  12. Blaster Master

    Blaster Master Star Wrangler

Eagerly awaiting the "planet-sized spaceship dungeons" that have been mentioned. Maybe they'll venture even further on that idea by making a planet-sized spaceship boss...like Unicron or something.

  13. AcetheGolden

    AcetheGolden Subatomic Cosmonaut

I'd love to be able to wield a drill plus a flashlight or something. Or have drills do 4 by 4 blocks. And cobblestone not to be slow to mine no matter your tool. And for food and healing items to show the exact numbers/effects in their description. And for the grappling hook to not be springy, hurt me if I actually use it to pull myself somewhere, and drain energy.

  14. JPAlucard

    JPAlucard Poptop Tamer

    1. Hardcore Mode -Less ore, less HP, Def, Energy, harder monsters-
    2. Item trade window, though still have the issue of people spawning in items.
    3. Actually crashing on the first planet which requires rebuilding the ship, very slowly if possible.
    4. Improved ship size, but a hefty cost per section added.
    5. Some sort of coordinate database that allows saving and renaming of star systems.
    6. Race specific traits, and more differences in race tier armor.
    7. Dyes capable of changing the color of every worn item in the game, even back items like the Jutsu Scroll.
    8. The quest system
    9. Mini-Bosses that actually feel like mini-bosses (Think Zelda).
    10. Almost total overhaul of guns, asap.

    Just to name a few.

  15. Neutral_Bob

    Neutral_Bob Void-Bound Voyager

A planet directory of some kind would be nice. The ability to keep a log of planets explored in the past would certainly make things more interesting. Fully fleshed out ocean biomes would also be nice, maybe even a boss taking place in the ocean, something with abyssopelagic flavor to it. Lastly, and I know this probably sounds silly, I'd love something akin to a MAG from Phantasy Star. Just a little orbiting semi-sentient sphere that offers some kind of augment(s). I know the ocean biome is an eventuality, and a planet log will probably be implemented somewhere down the line. At any rate I'm excited to see what the developers have in store.

  16. Cuftburt

    Cuftburt Void-Bound Voyager

Being able to click-and-drag the scroll bar.

  17. Lelouch9796

The next patch... when it is btw?

  18. NovaPixel

    NovaPixel Void-Bound Voyager

    Would like to see:

-More interesting stuff, not planet X, Y and Z being the same sand like 2 structures
    -Hytotl Cities etc
    -Better Ships
    -My suggestion regarding better weapons
    -Better late game healing
    -Better Beds
    -A use for home planets.
EDIT: Being able to move around the stations in your ship (locker, printer etc) and change the kind of captains seat (I made an Impervium one, why can't I take the cripple chair away and replace it with a good one?

I just want a difficult game.

    - Hunger and Warmth actual threats. I want to struggle to survive in harsh environments.
    - Breath being less long for everyone, save Hylotl (Not EVERYONE can hold their breath for 5+ minutes)
    - Dangerous monsters. Instead of "URAAAUGHH" and a slap, make them legitimately tough. A chance to block or parry your attack, for example.
    - Food less easy to obtain. Cooking should not be instant, chefs should have limited stock, and so on.
    - Items harder to craft. Wait at the anvil while it crafts, more material expensive, and so on.
    - Gravity as a dangerous aspect. If I jump too high on a low-grav planet, I better fly off the darn thing.
    - Mech tech being useful. It's so pathetic right now; a waste of time.
    - Bosses being smart. UFO = Where da rabbit at?, Robot = I cannot fit through holes, Dragon = Cannot aim down, Jellyfish = BLLRRRBLLRBLRLBLRLBLR. I want them to figure out ways to trick me out of my hiding spots, or destroy said spots altogether.
    - Thieves. Random NPCs who sneak into your house, barely visible, and loot from your storage.
    - Animals eating your crops. You need to legitimately protect it, not wait in a bed for a few minutes and get free food.
    - Thieves, Bandits, and so on being smart. Got a friend with a gun? Stick by him and protect him. Player getting close? Gun and run. Wall in the way? Try to get around the player.

    Pretty much that.
