What Ending Do You Want In Starbound?

Actually I based that Idea off of Red Dead Redemption that was the first game where the ending was really emotional for me I was mad and angry yet to me it was the perfect wild west ending and a perfect ending for that game.
Also I've never played Halo Reach I quit playing Halo after Halo 2.

 

Possibly to go back to your planet and re-build it
with all the new tools you have. Or destroy the race that
invaded your planet.

 

I think it would be the end of some main quest line.
You would probably be able to continue (maybe even have some sort of post game )

 

Starbound 2 is ending of Starbound1

 

No ending. Maybe an end-game quest like other people said in this thread, but not an actual ending in the game.
You shouldn't be limited in a game like Starbound with an ending - you might not be finished playing the game yet as you haven't discovered everything yet or something like that.

In my opinion, sandbox games shouldn't have endings - that clashes a bit with the actual meaning of "sandbox" in a game.

 

Agreed, the last Story Quest of Starbound must NOT be the end of the Starbound Log. With that said, the ending I want for Starbound (that does NOT end the game) is to REVENGE all over the 'Invaders that destroyed the Character's Homeworld'... FOR THE FALLEN!!!

Once the innocents are avenged, my Character will just plain live his/her life from there.

 

The villain that destroyed your race is a penguin. And so is your crew. And so are you. ... Wait, what?

 

DLC ENDING.
Sorry, you must buy HEAVEN DLC to continue.

 

You get to choose between the red ending, the green ending and the blue ending.

 

Absolutely no ending.

Would that be a Lone Survivor reference?

 

I have nothing against having the ending. Minecraft pulled it well and no one complained as getting to the end is an optional thing and can be completely avoided. It's for those who want some closure on the whole story and I have completely no problem with having some possibility of attaining such for the survivors (player characters) when one already will do everything they want.

As for what could be done. Given that characters supposedly are escapees from some disaster - finding other survivors and establishing a new, prosperous colony not only free of danger but supplied well enough to offer hope for a new, better beginning would be quite satisfactionary. Or, if player isn't fond of playing a 'good guy', conquering some sizeable region of galaxy. Maybe developing a technology to enter and explore different dimension/level of existence as a 'neutral' ending.

 

the ending i want= a cutscene that gives you information or such about who destroyed your homeplanet, and then you can continue playing. it has an ending, but it doesnt (makes no sense right?)

Well, I definitely want an ending that makes me feel accomplished. Something that makes it seem like all hours I played starbound and ignored real life mattered.

I really don't want to see one of those stupid endings where its "And then you woke up" or "Something happened to end the game that you couldn't change yourself"

 

the chance for revenge for destroying my home world. maybe destroying another planet in return?

 

During your travels you come across a species who are on the verge of a breakthrough that will destroy entire solar systems. In order to save the many planets, you decide to intervene to stop them. You successfully stop them from destroying any populated planets, gain the respect and recognition from all the planets you saved in the process, and you continue your journey through the stars!

I suppose this would be more fitting for a very large sidequest though...

 

I never want this game to end....
