What Do You Think The Modding Community in This Game Will be Like?

Hello Again

Again, As the title Obviously says, what do you think the modding community for this game will be like?

I myself think that the modding community will be Very active and people will keep coming up with new ideas. All I'm llooking for is a Portal gun mod, but I can't ask for everything.

Give me and the community YOUR opinion on this Topic

 

I don't think we can answer this question yet, since we know almost nothing about the game, so we cannot tell if this game will "need" mods or not...

 

If the game is a good as it sounds (which I know it will ), I feel mods won't be needed at all.
Just my opinion.

 

I don't know about Modding, but I would love a Portal gun!

 

The devs said that they wanted to add a proper modding api post release, so I expect to see some good stuff!

 

There should be a "Wait and see" option, 'cause like these guys above me have said, we don't know enough about Starbound yet.

 

Seconded, I love the prospect, but currently the game isn't even out yet, when people found out how to mod Terraria it wasn't even all that good. For the most part I'm cautiously optimistic, but for now I wouldn't hold your breath.

The quality of the mods will depend almost entirely on two things: the quality of the modding tools provided by Chucklefish, and the quality of modders that get interested in the game. I can't really say how either will be.

 

Why does everyone modable game have a portal gun mod?

 

Because it's awesome?

I'm excited! Knowing this game will be using some sort of algorithmic coding for gun generation, I see many beginning/professional coders putting together guns for adventure maps, or for mod packs! I'm very ecstatic to see the way the community will drive this game to a longer replay value compared to Terraria. (I love Terraria, but once you hit all good weps/bosses beat, it gets sadly boring...)

 

Depends on how much in game material there is. Or what the community turns in to. But now I can't even guess

 

Or rather, you can guess, but the accuracy of said guess is nay confirmed.

Also, I do agree that portal guns would be awesome as hell.

 

They will be picky. And want pictures of Spiderman.

Starbound has already declared itself mod friendly.
That is a very positive first sign.

With that said, if there is no server administration tools available, I will be greatly displeased.

anyone tried running a server without good admin tools? thinking about it makes me want to jump off a cliff.
