What Do You Think The 3 Unannounced Races Are?

Well, I found this on the list of announced game info:

• And 3 other unannounced races at release with more after.

And it made me think about what races there may be. Of course, already having a bird and an ape race means the other races may have a similar theme, but at the same time it is doubtful everything will be animal based.
Also, I personally believe all the races will have a human-form, so I'm sorry to say so, but I'm ruling out the much-loved glunaught race as a possibility.

So, please take a few seconds to vote what race you believe is most likely to be released, and maybe also post about any races I didn't include here, or if you just want to chat about it.

If you choose alien, water creature, or animal race; describe how you think it will look, or what it will be like.

 

I'll admit that I want to see a feline-esque race. I've always liked the Rakshasa in other games I've played, and wouldn't mind seeing something like them.

Yes, although I suppose it could be a re-colored human, or maybe considered an alien race rather than elven.
But, with the alien race being so broad, anyone with an abnormal color could be thought of as an alien
I wish it was easier to word such things

I think the only option is select 1, or select as many as you want... And I don't want people selecting all of them just mess around with things. Seems like a cyborg race is the most popular.

One selection you didn't have, and a race I expect, is a robotic race. "Cyborg" implies machinery interacting and benefiting an organic core. I am guessing that we will actually have a completely robotic race, and I think it could be really cool.

Cyborgs just seem like something that would fit Starbound really well so I'm guessing they'll be one of the races.
I'd rather play as something shadowy or undead though.

This thread isn't about what you WANT to see, it's about what you think you will see so yeah.

 

I would really like to see a water race coming (LOL, just realized that I'm an octopus. My decision has nothing to do with this, though, I just have this subliminal thing for the sea), a bit kind of like the Zoras from Zelda.

We don't have any sort of advantages pointed out for the different races, so far, have we? Like, the Avians can't fly cause they're grounded. We don't know if Apex can climb like maniacs. What I think is that these races should have their unique traits and that the humans, being the 'plain' race, as it were, should be able to replicate these unique traits - albeit with less efficiency, or needing to select one or two to be the best ones.

Basically, a water race would be able to swim really fast, like Link in Skyward Sword or the Zoras in Majora's Mask, for instance. Yeah.

(also, I love how this discussion was started by "Giving Death", as if it was an action that made it start. We gave death, and this discussion was born. Anyway, I ramble. Ramble Ramble Rhubarb)

Yeah Tiy said that he doesn't want the races to be different in anything else than aesthetics.
He's worried that people will pick a race they like and be stuck with bonus abilities that they don't like for the rest of the game.
He did point out that they craft different looking basic items.
When a human crafts a chest it looks different than if an Avian or Apex does the same.

I dunno how to feel about it.
I get why he's doing it that way but at the same time it'd be interesting to see some actual differences.
It reminds me of how in Guild Wars 2 the races all have the same stats to be equal, but also have some racial skills that can be slotted in place of their usual skills.
I'd like to see something like that.

 

The fastest way to balance races is to give no perks to any race.

I like that each race will get their own aesthetic so the race feels autonomous, but I hope there's a way to craft other races' aesthetics perhaps as an endgame perk?
