Um ImmortalFrog why are you just randomly liking every post in this thread?

"Like" is a function to denote popular and meaningful posts. Not to spam around at every post regardless of content.

Likeing posts does not get you anything. There is no secret minigame involving likeing posts. It is merely a function of social sites in today's world and you are misusing and obnoxiously abusing it.

You are doing it wrong.

Well when i get email alerts about stuff on these forums and its just 5+ likes on every post ive ever made by this guy, its kind of obnoxious.

Ever since these forums existed people have thought the like system was some kind of minigame and abused it alot. And im just a bit tired of it. People link thier emails to their accounts to get emails about notifications and when a majority are random nonsense likes for no good reason, its dumb.

Before i couldnt express my opinions on that due to being staff, but as i no longer am, i can voice my annoyance with it.

Being part of a clan in which immortalfrog is also a member, I've had days with 40+ alerts, purely from his likes
I guess you get used to it...

Also, you get e-mails for every alert you get? I don't get any emails from this forum, how's that possible?

 

You can go into your account settings and set it to email you about various stuff.

It is quite handy. But you have to enable that stuff.

My standards are pretty low. I like a lot of stuff and have an incredibly open mind. I was just amused how you said lol when quoting laughter. That's somewhat funny.

My gaming styles have changed a bit with 2 kids now. Enjoying the more casual pace of indie games.

 

Well from what it looks like, you "like" quite alot of posts, many of which are nonsense posts or such, so it just seems like your abusing the tool from my perspective.

I know Patrick Stewart said its good to be king, but i have to disagree with him this time... its not good. its not good at all...

lol i see. well ive seen you on a ton of other mmo forums as well, first time ive seen you outside that scene. haha. Just funny how i seem to always run into you =P i first met you on the firefall forums which i was an orignal forum member for, then i saw you on gw2 forums some as well as ffxiv forums and others, and now starbound forums. Funnily enough, every forum i see you on, i happen to have the name "King" on those forums (which is a hard name to have since its rather generic but alot of these forums im members of from like day 1 so i snag the name lol).

King, if you think immortalfrog's behavior of liking everything is a misuse of the like feature, well, you stated your opinion, but unfortunatelly for you, there's no rule against it.
if you are upset about the emails you receive from his likes cluttering your inbox, as you said, it's a toggleable feature, so there's no reason to keep this thing going
(you can also, politely and in a PM preferably, ask him to stop liking your posts)
