most of the times im standing on a ledge underground and suddenly out of the darkness a monster jumps out and hits me and i fall and die

 

Really?? Take death like a (whatever gender you are).
Thats what i do because i am tough.
I take death like a man. No death is going to get between me and my precious minerals.

 

Keep a stack of dirt or other block source that doesn't fall everywhere(Gravel/Sand) and just hide in a box xD. Either that Or start tech hunting and laugh when all the monsters come for you and you just blink away.

 

I keep running into medieval planets (with Robots! medieval robots!) so no tech for me.

Tech is an excellent thing to abuse if you get lucky though.

 

glitch castles are fun to raid . I've completely destroyed two just so i could build my own castle on a tundra planet , I actually have quite a few extra techs because i bounce between two multiplayer servers and my own lol.

 

I usually surround myself in blocks and continue digging to where there are more ores until i get enough to upgrade my gear.

Then I just try to kill a mob or die trying

 

wait ... mobs drown ?? *slams head into desk*

 

The most hilarious part is on one planet all the Glitch guards were attacking me for trespassing, but all of the Glitch civilians were friendly/polite. I picked up some pretty sweet weapons from that raid, and a crown.

I can't confirm for certain, but I usually lure them into water, then block them from escaping. When I come back from killing the rest of the mob one or two screens over they're usually gone, so I assume they died. I like trapping them in water because then I don't have to climb over my trap since it's already inset!

 

I beam the heck outta there if I can. Otherwise I build a little dirt shelter and try to pick them off one by one.

When swapping tales with my adventure buddies I just say I took them all down with one mighty swing of my Broken Riot Sword.

 

i've got 3 crowns and 2 full wizard sets with the scroll backpack. To bad i don't like those cosmetics tho .

 

I actually box myself in and create small 1x1 or 2x1 holes which I can shoot from. But if I'm running and there's a monster in a cave below me I just seal up the entrance

 

This is exactly what I do. Described in the first post. Seems I'm not alone!

 

Sadly looks I won't get to go cave exploring for a bit. Newest patch seems to have broken my game xD.

I usually just try to avoid these situations at all cost b/c I'm terrible at dealing with them. lol

 

most of my deaths are exploring the underground and tripping over a ledge only to plummet to the planets deepest regions you'd think I'd learn ...but noooo

 

Oddly enough that applies to me more in Zelda than it does in this game.
