What direction are the developers taking the game?

I have searched for information along these lines, but have not really found anything. Anyone know what direction they are taking the game? What is their end goal? What are they wanting to implement next?

I know this is beta, and I respect that, and the fact that many things are not implemented. However, the question is, "What are they implementing?" What is being worked on next?

I know monster taming, novakids and fossils, but surely there is more?!

I respect the devs and all of the time they have spent to make what I expect to be an incredible game, but right now I wonder if there is more focus on content versus features. Recently we were given a new sector to explore, but right now the sectors are bland. I would prefer 3 sectors that are more fleshed out than a rush to get all 10 sectors in the game. Understand I am not saying that this is what they are doing, I am simply asking if anyone knows.

Just a quick list of things that should be relatively quick, but would improve the current sectors:
    • The ability to convert more blocks into bricks. (Example, cobblestone makes cobblestone brick)
    • The ability to set favorite planets.
    • Take away the chance of negative effects from status pods.
    • More building options (right now you have to pillage villages to get decent bricks).
    • Since coal is used for fuel, something else to make torches with.
    • Better/more varied items in treasure chests.
    • Slow regeneration of health outside of combat.

Just for reference, coal can no longer be used for fuel in the most recent patch, and I know they've mentioned the ability to bookmark planets before.

Coal still works exactly the same as before.

a Universal sandbox with progression and lots of mod support. They are still adding more features, don't worry. We are only at the very beginning of the beta stage 1. I am sure they will announce more features as they come up with them.

If you hang around on the site, you'll find the news. The devs usually post on twitter/reddit/the official site on what the next update will have. So far there's nothing on what's right next yet.

Oops, bit of a brainfart there...

I have to admit, this is probably up there in my wishlist of changes. I have no incentive to activate these if there is even the slightest chance of me being fatally eradicated from existence without warning. If they were always positive, my desire to activate them would be greater.

Regenerating health would make the already easy to craft bandages pointless, imho.
They only take plant fibers, which are absurdly easy to collect on the vast majority of planets I've been to. I always keep a stockpile of bandages.

When developing you strategically tackle certain aspects of a program.

They communicate frequently with us, they're still in the middle of developing the game, there doesn't seem to be a specific goal in mind other than modeling the game from our feedback.

My point exactly. The negative effects will literally one shot you, and the positive effects are very short lived. These 2 things combined give very little incentive to open them

This. We have health and/or pixels to lose and nothing much to gain from those things. Devs should make the positive effects last for minutes if they want those things not to be an annoyance. I personally just defuse every single one as a mine - from a distance just to see the pretty color of the smoke etc because I just can't leave it there spinning annoyingly.
