Does the Sonic Screwdriver count as a Melee Weapon? It was pretty awesome.

the master's laser screwdriver would make more sense since it actually had an offensive function on it.

    IDEA!
A jet-hammer! Yes, this is another one of those hammers that has some sort of device that gives the hammer more force.
But one with a jet engine in the head? You could smash opponents senseless and roast them!
    I want this now.

I like the sound of this... but I would think a Thrown Expendable Weapon would count as Ranged...

I dunno why, but I've always been a fanboy of spears. It's my personal weapon of choice for things like Boffer and SCA. I'm a huge fan of Spears in general, so as long as there's a multitude of spears I'll be happy.

And maybe if possible, make it so all weapons don't function in the same manner? Like Terraria was terrible about that, all swords swung down and forward, except the shortsword/dagger which furiously poked forward. Spear was a long push forward and that was it. When actually using a spear? I can effectively fight in a 360 degree area. I have no real blindspots or spots I can't strike. So maybe make it so that higher level weapons can do better things?

An example of this, is say one of the spears you get leaning more towards "hard mode" so to speak. (The higher-tier planets I guess, or stuff that drops from bosses.) attacks faster, it's not nearly as long of a range infront of you, but it has a small aoe around your character, this is to simulate the style of your character taking up some of the better stances that a spear can offer and effectively fight enemies that may surround him. Swords could be used in a few styles as well, such as florentine. Make use of daggers as an off-hand weapon, put in some of the better melee weapons that were created, like the swordbreaker dagger, maybe let it give you a chance to disarm someone who is using a melee weapon? Instead of dropping it (To avoid losing really good gear on an off-chance.) just shove it into their inventory, makes it so in the heat of battle it's harder to re-equip.

Other cool melee weapons the kusari-gama

Is another awesome weapon. But again, this is me being a fanboy for melee weapons and melee fighting styles. That's my two cents! :)

Random idea, a Kinetic-Ionizing-Propulsion-Externalizer Gauntlet, or K.I.T.E. Gauntlet.

A gauntlet that uses your energy reserve to throw enemies a decent distance, with distance thrown and energy cost increasing relative to your velocity.

The range is short, damage could vary depending on how fast you move and if the enemy happens to slam into a wall/tree/poptop(or any other enemy).

A still character's attack would get almost no knock-back, a walking character's would have a medium amount of knock-back, and a sprinting/very fast moving character would have a large knock-back.

Perhaps a variant that would also/instead take the enemies speed into account, so that a fast enemy would get a larger knock-back?

well to stay on topic I still like the idea of bio-augmentations after all a a mutant battle arm, is an awesome arm, and if you want to know what such a thing could do, I say HULK SMASH!!!
(there are tentacles and claws as ideas too...)
