What are your favourite Sci-fi melee weapons?

I love the PSO2 gunslashes so much, I'm thinking of making one myself IRL! It will be a lot of work, though...

That doesn't really look sci-fi to me (although I know nothing about whatever they're from).

also i couldnt find a picture but they are gloves that when you punch someone it makes a burst of energy stunning and sending them flying (as well as a lot of damage)

like form fallout? they have power fist, not only that I am not talking about old fallout, I am talking about all the fallout game. They do have fire power fist which in dlc of crazy sciences. They even have like shock power fist or shock gloves on.

Seen better weapons that I know. (AQ, AQW, DF, MQ, OS, battleon, LoL (not lol, League of Legend), animation, elder scrolls, modders weapons, ect.)

My favorite that I know of would be those Zealot blades from Starcraft
Some ideas that I just thought up would be a Gravity Shield (pulls in enemies/projectiles in either a circular field or a cone when used, increases melee damage to enemies under this effect) and maybe Phoenix Gauntlets (energy-based gauntlets that massively increase energy restoration when energy is all used up and deals bonus damage and inflicts burns to enemies it hits while it has energy, but it'll use a fair amount of energy per attack)

 

a plasma blade? already got that idea running which they are thinking for now. Gravity shield? you meant magnet shield? Already I think they had that idea too, but why we are even talking about gravity shield anyway is it melee shield protection? oh wait that is right, they didn't say shield effect idea. So you should post that part in suggestion items area which I like the idea alot. phoenix gauntlets? I think burning fist attack is like captin falcon punch like my quote from last time

I forgot to include my hope that we will be able to slap people with shields (or run around throwing people like in Skyrim xD), and magnets wouldn't necessarily pull all types enemies, would it? I know there are limitations to the usage of an item, but I think that they could make clicking activate effects and block, while shift-clicking can activate a secondary ability or possibly shield bump. Also it would work like a melee support item, as it increases melee damage to enemies under its effect, if we can't shield bump.

As for the matter of the Phoenix Gauntlets, these are multi-purposed, as they can be used as a flat melee weapon, and it can also be used to support a high-cost energy weapon, rather than what you are saying, which is more of a purely power-based melee weapon.

Another thing, he didn't ask for everyone to come up with new ideas, he asked for our favorites, and those ideas happen to be mine

 

Yea I am also shield basher too, and I understand he said favorites, but he also said "favourite Sci-fi melee weapons" so lots people know and few people made mistake using range weapons.

Telescopic Harpoon Spear.

Two-handed weapon. LMB attacks with usual spear thrust, quick and deadly, efficient damage per second. RMB unleashes the harpoon: spear becomes very (very!) long telescopic thing. When it strikes an enemy, it works like grappling hook, and there are several systems which can work, either one of them could be used in game or more than one as in weapon variants.

1. Harpoon contracts and throws the victim to the spearman, MK Scorpion style. Larger creatures and/or bosses may or may not be immune to this effect.
2. Harpoon contracts and throws the spearman to the victim, allowing him to cut distance and to strike with increased kinetic damage on this charge.
3. Both participants are thrown to each other by harpoon contraction. This system probably should take into account mass of participants. If a spearman attacks your random space rabbit, then it works pretty much as system 1. If a spearman attacks some sort of space dragon or other huge creature, then it throws him to his supposed victim, as sysyem 2. If a spearman attacks vaguely humanoid creature of similar size and mass, then they meet midfield.

Harpoon ability may or may not consume energy.
