Hi, what do you think about make factories?

When you're in late-mid game, with all equipment etc.. Gathering resources it becomes very boring, so what about create such kind of factories (With high requeriments like strange material who is so hard to get) in certain planets?

The factories will produce the basic resources (rocks, earth (Combine both), class, etc..), every second, and you just have to go to this planets every time you need materials. And get your production.

    (Srry for my low english)

This looks more like mines, not factories. Don't think we need this automated production, but if it is implemented, IMO materials shouldn't appear from nowhere. Player should assign volume of blocks to be mined and only these will appear in the warehouse. Getting back to factories, these should be more production-oriented, not gatherers. Player should assign product type to be produced and supply materials for that. It should be a way to make crafting automated, not get something from nothing.

actully this would be a great idea for the home planet (you wouldnt want to distabalize its core or really damage its ecosystem would you?) But change the name of the place you build because factory=auto-crafting maybe a matter converter? You could make it so that it takes out pollution from the air (just in case you like to pollut) or maybe makes it out of some solar energy (that way its automated but only works on sunlight). You proboly be able to upgrade it with better solar panals, faster production speed, or even more items less power. But if it isnt on you home planet many pirates will try to take it (unless its stolen then its form the race you took it from) because this tech will be unheard of theroized but unheard of. just a thought

At best we could use this 'factory' to produce certain basic materials (eg//wood, gel, some weaker metals). Perhaps a better name for this could be the High Energy Materialization Machine.

I have the same sentiments as LightHoof. I don't fully agree with something created from nothing. Unless we are talking about very mundane materials such as dirt or stone. However, I would more like to see automated crafting systems and such. Something like automated quarries (like from Minecraft Buildcraft Mod).

I think factories would be a good idea, but I also thin they should only be used for man-made substances. Stuff you have to craft. Otherwise, the beginning of the game will just be a rush to get a factory for basic resources and then you would be set for the whole game. Quarries for stone could be implemented, but I imagine that's a different topic. So, you could have a factory where you input different materials, or where you tell it what to craft, and it does it. For example, you put one wood and one stone into the crafting station in the factory, and it makes whatever you get from one wood and one stone repeatedly until you tell it to stop. This way, you don't have a game-breaking natural resource generator, but you don't have to sit there crafting wood benches for three hours. Just my opinion.
    TL;DR: Only for man-made stuff

Wait wait, we can still implement factories don't worry.
Factories can be made to mass produce, say those consumables. Like Arrows,Grenades, healthkits. And probably even specific furniture you designed, if you plan on being an interstellar furniture vendor

    As for OP's suggestion
You can have a Planet Leecher Automated Mining plant, and have them give you the resources randomly around the planet (or consistently downwards) filtering out dirt/etc.

EDIT: Scratch the grenades and arrows... Forgot that the game's ammunition relies on your energy now. Just hope someone releases a ballistics mod. Where you use actual magazines for guns, and use energy for psionics/ energy weapons.

I'd be cool with that, I just think it needs to come with a price. Be it materials, monetary price, or even risk of pollution.

What you described seems like an automatic quarry (without the actual removal of blocks from the world) more than a factory. I do however think that if a factory were something hooked up to storage units, you could activate it via remote control to start making, for example, more ammunition which you would pick up later. This factory would pull materials out of storage and make as many as you told it to, it would have to take time depending on how much and what it is making because there must be some penalty to not actually travelling to the location. It would also be neat to have a sort of drone or npc working at your space station that would go pick it up for you (this would require time and some money also, and a limited storage space on the vessel which may require multiple trips to pick up all of the stuff).

That's a good idea, and sort of an elaboration on what I said.

a craftable drilling unit, that mines strait down one or two spaces wide would be awesome. and if it was scripted the right way, it could even be used to drain a planets water supply. it would be nice to make strip mining fun in some way, as it can get boring fast. as for factories a simple auto crafting would be good but i would rather see a machine that made some kind of "Pre-Fab" pre made buildings in a transportable form,
