    you know what, i really don't mind if they do decide to take things in a more silly/crazy direction. after thinking about it i would kind of prefer that, because there just isn't enough stuff like that.

    no, the earths core is hot due to radioactive decay from elements within the core itself, not by pure pressure. Planets that form without unstable isotopes in their core will have solid, non hot cores.
