Weird Items

So I was walking around on a level 21 Snow Planet, farming pixels for the Decoy Princess, but when I kill stuff I get really weird items sometimes. Like "Hardened Monster Plate", or something called "Cell Materia", which doesn't even seem to have a description besides "cellmateria". I have no idea what it is or what it's used for.

What weird items have you found?

The Monster plate is part of two head piece plans, as for the Cell Materia I have also gotten a good few of those with nothing to use them with(though I have mostly stopped and am awaiting the wipe).

 

I have also found those items, i also found a rum barrel.... it goes on my back but does nothing lol. and a robot box hat.

 

Yeah, they're a Tier 3 material. But I think their recipes also require Matter Blocks, which aren't implemented yet.

 

Cell materia ... Maybe used to craft a matter/antimatter weapon ? Daydreaming i am ...

 

Sounds neat. I wonder if they'll be used in the 4th boss fight. (If there is already one in the game I'm just ignorant.)

 

I've found Cell Materia but even way before that I found Cell Matter in an underground biome, they were on the floor and they looked like molecules, I could break them with my sword to pick them up.

 

Cell materia is used in the recipes for the flesh furniture, and I think monster plating is for use in some of them as well.

 

There ultimately needs to be a craft database resource in game. Like some sort of "matter analyzer" on your ship that tells you what a block or item can be crafted into.

 

I found a hip flask of whiskey!

 

I found the same thing, under the floorboards of an Avian's house. Had to take a swig immediately, was hoping for a drunk effect lol.

Indeed, long before I got to play Starbound I pictured the players having a sort of Star Trek style Tricorder that you carried around to scan stuff with and record things like that. It seems to fit the feel.
