Weekly updates

So this is no complaint, I am just wondering what happened to the weekly updates. People were "predicting" that the updates would stop after beta release when they jumped from daily updates to weekly updates (whyever, furthermore I think daily updates would not be possible right now). But could you please try to sustain weekly updates? I know, patch-details replaced them somehow, but a roundup of what's coming and a feedback of what you think about the predominant suggestions (delete sector-system etc.) would be awesome.

Ps: Please, devs, have an eye on your forum, take a look at the suggestion. There are many threads about how to improve core mechanics. Thanks!

Edit: I don't mean weekly content updates! ;) Just an abstract of what they are planning to do next, what they think of our most anticipated suggestions. Thanks SqualidMisnomer for preventing further misunderstandings! :D

I don't really understand your post, don't know if the devs will either.

Is this a direct statement to the devs? Because they do do this, extremely well. The beta has been out just over a week, and a massive number of community suggestions have been implemented with more in the chute for future updates.

Again, the beta is just over a week old and it's received a number of updates (or patches) which have brought with it new content. I'm more than satisfied with how the devs are working on the game. But I agree with Equilibriate, I don't completely understand what you're proposing.

Well, again: I would like to have a weekly abstract of what the developers are doing next at a specific day (friday) as it was promised, so I don't have to gather the information by reading tons of threads in the forum where some users post a link to a reddit-conversation on page X of thread Y. This was absolutely not a complaint about a lack of patches.
And yep, I was addressing the devs, changed it ^^ - and I was not talking about minor changes like a having a lamp on my back (which is an important change though), but core mechanics. If you read the forums regularly, you know what I mean.

I do read the forums regularly; thanks - but now that you've enlightened us more about what you originally meant I understand a little bit clearer.
But to be brutally honest, I don't see why the Devlog on their main site isn't sufficient? As it's in the early stages of the beta, they are simply fixing the small bugs that we find, and adapting to our needs through the implementation of small things like the lamp on our back, and nerfing the difficulty and such. They'll obviously be progressing forward with other major adaptions too, but when their ready they'll be announced, or discussed on the blog that I linked.

There is also a big thread of confirmed features and their estimated release dates that I'll dig out for you as well, if that's of any consolidation.

    EDIT:
Not as good as I was making it out to be as it's retired, but may be somewhat of a help.
    Thread here.

Could you please stop your aggressive writing style? I said "IF you read the forums regurarly" because I don't know if you do, this was not a personal attack, no need to thank me in a sarcastic manner. But yet, I am sorry if you feel hurt, this was not my intention.
The thread you posted was quite helpful, but as you said, it is not updated. The devlog is good if you want to know what has happened, but you can't really see what they are working at right now and what their thoughts of suggestions that have a major impact on playstyle are. Instead, people keep bumping important threads for days/weeks because they don't know if the devs recognized them.

Not my intention either :) Sorry.

I agree that the endlessly repeated topic-of-the-day is getting a bit old, after having read it a couple hundred times and that it would be nice for the debate to be recognized, but unfortunately nobody, let-alone the devs, has the time to consistently agree or disagree on every thread. I say every thread because my opinion is that even if there was a master source of 'inside chucklefish' people would still post threads asking; it's just what a forum is.
We sort of just have to take in a sort of "goes-without-saying" fashion that the devs have heard us in the past, and they will hear us again.
I'm just being a bit of a pessimist on this topic; even though I would love constant updates and news, I find it difficult to picture any developer doing it. But I can somewhat agree with you, and have my fingers crossed that maybe your suggestion will be taken into consideration :)

Ultimate edit: My first two posts up until now I was under the assumption that by "daily" or "weekly updates" you meant actual updates to the games' content as opposed to progress reports. Excuse my ignorance :p

Yeah you're right, it is too much to demand that the devs read every topic - the mods will see which threads are most anticipated anyway, and probably they forward this to the devs :)
It just felt like "we cry, but no one hears us" - but they probably do hear us and just don't have the time to respond. Yet it would be nice if they would consider this and provide a more reactive system, as said e.g. on a weekly base.

Nothing to excuse here, misunderstandings happen (to me much more often than to "normal" persons) :D I'm just glad we could clarify them!

Actually, a patch came today ;)
I may have to edit my first post to circumvent misunderstandings better: I don't mean content updates! Gonna fix this ;)

Do you have to try to highlight things in sentences with underlined text all the time? The english language has managed up till now without it ;)

I do also understand your post a bit more after you clarified what you meant but I'd have to disagree with you beacause it's been 10/11 days after launch so it's no suprise if they haven't been doing what they originally intended or promised.

I really don't see the problem. This is a very helpful optical tool to let someone know what is important if he/she doesn't have the time or doesn't want to read everthing. Shall i use colors instead or keep it a grey, uniform sausage of text? :(
As I said, this is no complaint, more a reminder/wish for the future, you're absolutely right that there really have to be going on a lot of things at Chucklefish right now. :iswydt:

It's not really a problem and of course you can use it as you will but just know there are people like me who find that type of thing quite ANNOYING (that's another thing when people use all caps to try to highliight something, I only used it sarcastically).
