Bart said the it was glitched several times. needed to have a cool down. i dunno how i feel about the bow honestly. will we have to make bows for higher level planets? i cant imagine being on a level 100 planet trying to kill something with a bow just to get some food. i know there are other ways for food but still... seems like you might turn a low level planet into "hunting lodge" and farm food... and that dosnt seem like fun to me.
some people's patients is running thin and people repeatedly telling them to be more patient is not helping. blizz did not pay for wow with pre-orders. saying "play some other stuff while you wait" is not helpful it just windeds people up that have lost patients with waiting and for the millionth time it's a beta it's meant to be huggy. one can only hope but the longer the wait for a payoff on the investment the less likely that becomes. edit: ps i like your avatar.
Oh thanks, i did not listen when he said that, that's good it was just glitched. I think the "bow used to hunt" is a way to obtain different loot from monsters, maybe there will be different kind of bows, later in game, and maybe hunting rifles too. But i do agree to some melee hunting weapons too. In the end, i like the idea of weapons with different purposes, since you can't really obtain eatable meet after you shoot a monster with a bazooka. Maybe the developers will work better on this in a later stage to have something equilibrated and logic for the final game.
that is something i have to disagree with. i dont want all weapons to be the same but i dont think any loot should be weapon exclusive. i understand the bow being better for meat, but i dont think a bazooka should change your drop tables. i know its just one item now but i dont want things to spiral out of control either. "you can only get x with a hammer, and z with a sword, and y with a flame thrower. " etc. its a big leap i know but you have to think about these things
good work like always. Here is the idea make a pickaxe that lights on fire and needs to charge up for 7 secs and destroy's 6 blocks. Too activate the fire you right click. If you don't you can still mine like a normal pickaxe. It's an idea if you don't want to add it its fine.

I for one second this sentiment. I can only wonder why we'd have to use bows to get meat. Wheres the logic in making such an arbitrary restriction? I can totally understand collateral-prone weaponry such as rockets, lasers, flamethrowers, radiation beamguns, or whatever spoiling/destroying meat, but why would ordinary rifles deny us delicious meatnoms?

Okay, I haven't read most of what happened in this thread, but seriously, if you have no other complaint about a moderator besides "Ermagerd they like MLP", I think that's pretty damn good. Who the hell gives a damn shit what show someone likes to watch? I could name some actual terrible shows people watch and I don't get in a hissy fit about it when I heard they watch it. As for the rudeness...I haven't seen much, but from what I have, he was not even rude. Even if he was, when you're dealing with people who are rude in the first place, you're probably going to end up inadvertently being rude back. Also, they could be not doing any update of any kind. They do that as a favor, that is not a requirement. They made no promises on when the game would come out, so I for one expected it to go longer than the estimate. And I don't become extremely impatient and rude as a result. Sorry, but the posts removed are probably aggressive. I've avoided the forums entirely beside of people's rude behavior on here due to being completely impatient. Am I slightly annoyed the game is taking this long to come out? Of course. But I don't feel the need to throw insults at the devs telling them they don't do their job well. I am fully aware how difficult it is to make a game, and I'm not going to throw a fit because I haven't gotten it exactly when I wanted it. Sorry if I'm a little incoherent about anything, I'm sick as crap and am only posting because I felt I needed to defend people being attacked for no real significant reason.
TvK's like or dislike of a show in no way influences his ability to moderate a forum. Really, it's quite low to claim that the two aren't mutually exclusive. People are allowed to have separate likes and dislikes, friend.
What's even better is that they realistically only have 3 1/2 weeks left due to the holidays. I can't be mad with them because I do understand the delay, and the beta will be available within the month. But holy crap, this is stupid. Three and a half weeks from hitting their deadline and we don't even know whether or not they've internally agreed on a date. Chucklefish, just tell us it's the 18th of December and get it over with.
Well.. If you go back and read previous updates or lore about the game, you would find out that the florans dont "create" anything by themselves, as they have the ability to reverse enginner technology, and is the only reason why they are even in space to begin with. Im not too sure if this is a "spoiler" or not but the only reason the florans are among space races is because an avian research ship crash landed on thier planet, and they soon ate/do whatever they do in order to reverse enginner the advanced technology, and rebuild thier own ships, which i think led to some kind of lock down of the planet with avians making sure the florans didnt spread. And im not talking out of my rear here, this was all in the last few pages of the first lore released to the public in the first newsletter i think? Anyway its there, i cant remember if i read all of it or not but i do remember this info, hope it helped explain things

In the industry the only delays you have are either self made or publisher made. They have no publisher. It is their choice not to release the beta, or even address the beta. They let out a half assed statement "because beta is nearing" with little to no info on how it was coming out or when. Its just a circle jerk over and over. After a year of this its getting old.

Well this isn't a national bank, it's a videogame developer's website. Did you expect cake and flowers because you're upset? There are people that have spent 10x as much money as most of you angry mobsters on this game, and they're fine waiting patiently.
