I wish everyone would chill about the 'when beta! -beta NOW!' harping. You all know damn well if it doesn't live up to your heightened (probably unrealistic at this point) expectations that you'll be right back in these forums bitching your heads off. CF knows this and is trying they're damndest to deliver you something you won't rage over. Of course it's hard, with this carrot being dangled every week. CF's in a tight spot.
These weekly updates are pretty disappointing. It's about a day's update and a half, so effectively what we got every 2 days before.
You know there are better ways to spend time waiting for beta... hint hint cough cough This is a great update though.
Molly, putting random generated characters out of their misery like a champ! Solid and impressive updates. Awesome stuff Team Chucklefish! Keep up the excellent work!
When the beta starts I'm going to die playing it... (possible death causes: starvation, dehydratation, excessive joy)
Really enjoying the story leg updates its nice to be able to feel what you character would get upto in starbound
What about the Nova kid ship? The Apex reanimation peak looks kind of cool. And the droids with their shields remind me of Droideka.
Nope. The beta - over to try the game - is made to send the feedback to the developers and help them to improve everything, fix bugs / glitch /, balance stuff, try out the servers ( stress / network tests ), etc etc.. It's only bad if the game is officially released now without any beta. Alpha / Beta are made for something...
you can craft it from wood and plant fibre (source: twitch streams) and the new ships are here: http://i.imgur.com/SPzdgzl.jpg, as they were in the update great update btw!
Skull-shooting swords... Electric-looking blades... just let me live, I don't wanna die of excitement. D':
That's to show how it's difficult to create content for updates, if they are not looking forward to posting stuff like "We added the commit blablabla, fixed this, and we made this bug, we fixed that..." From what I've seen on the twitch channels last night, the doors are bugged, to the point they are sticking out of the correct place, so opening them gets tricky. Tiy and the others discovered that you can sit and use the tent/bed to sleep, literally anytime or in any form, using the mechs, while in morphball (which also bugged the rolling animation), so I guess they want to take care of those bugs before releasing the beta. Not that they are game breaking bugs, but hopefully those can be fixed easily by Bart and co.
How about you save the tweaking and balancing till after beta launches and focus on implementing features first? Nice update nonetheless though, thanks!
