As long as it doesn't delay beta, I don't have a preference. New would be nice, but I want beta more than a new theme.
You should keep the current design. The colors are pleasant for the eye, the text is easy to read and the screen isnt overloaded.
Indeed, I would prefer a lighter theme, it feels kind of dead right now. But of course it's really no biggie.
Heres a thought that could make everyone(Aside from your website coder and artist) happy , Changable theme, ->One Theme for Each race as well as the default theme. -> Toggleable in settings maybe -> Cookies to persist on forums as well as all webpages yup. all it would require is a fan art contest and a few new css sheets right?
what if you gave a choice of options that we could pick from in a settings menu so it's how each person likes it?
i think you should set up a redesign of the website as soon as you release the beta to mark the latest milestone in starbounds developement! but please, keep a dark background with white/grey fonts
I personally love this theme, but if your willing to put up another theme then give us a few choices we can choose from from the style selector, the only thing would be to make sure if people notice it and use it.
Why not just change the background picture every (enter time frame here), rather than a new theme altogether?
Honestly? I love the current theme. The dark feel of it is easy on my eyes and doesn't give me a headache like most forums and websites do. Heck, though, if you guys want to make a new one, go right on ahead, but for the love of all that's good let me toggle it back to this one if it's bright! I realize the colors of the current forums/site are depressing to some people, so I'm all for new options, but please make it that - options. As it is now I can spend hours looking at the forums with no headaches, and I really like it that way. Also, it feels more...spacey this way.
It's a case of "Dont fix what isn't broken," this theme is simple, but it doesn't scream bland, it isn't hurtful on the eyes, the font is a nice size and I got the impression from various screenshots and videos that it matches Starbound quite nicely. I'm quite happy with what I see here, personally I wouldn't like to see a permanent change, otherwise I'd probably request an option to revert to this theme. Edit: Although now I come to think of it, it would be awesome if the moving city at the top of the screen changed biomes in a cycle, to represent what is in Starbound, if that makes sense?
How would such a thing be accomplished? I mean it's pretty pixelated and basic. Might not even be a city. It doesn't scream any biome in particular to me as it is...
