Hello again Bounders! I recently posted a topic containing a lot of different polearm suggestions, but rather quick ended up making more than just polearms. (Hoping a Mod can delete the old post.) Because of this, I've decided to make a topic covering it all. I'm still very new to this whole "spriting" thing, beginning barely a few days ago, so any suggestions and criticism is highly appreciated.

    Color Codes:
    Red - Weapons
    Blue - Items
    Green - Armour
    Yellow - Misc.

    Weapons:

    Hallebarde:

The Hallebarde is possibly one of the most widely used Polearms, featuring an axe blade in the front for striking devastating, armor/bone crushing blows, a spike on the back for backward jabs and a spearhead on top for long distance pokes. The Hallebarde easily covered multiple attack strategies which made it widely used by footmen as an all-around weapon.

    Bardiche
    [IMG]

The Bardiche was a prime weapon for horse-based combat. It consisted of nothing more than a long pole with a huge, wide and amazingly sharp axe blade at the end. This was the ultimate one hit, one kill weapon. Its rumored that it could slice the head clean off a horse with one blow.

    Guisarme
    [IMG]
Ah yes, the Guisarme. The weapon of trickery. The Guisarme focused less on harming your opponent and more on disarming him. It was mainly a spear, but with multiple spikes along the blade and one large hook near the tip. The weapon was meant for jabbing constantly to keep your opponent at a distance, then at a sudden, using the hook to hook onto his weapon or handle and disarm him. Thus leaving him open for one violent, but final stab from the spear head.

    Chauve-Souris
    [IMG]
The Chauve-Souris was a slightly rare weapon to be seen on the battlefield. It worked slightly like a Guisarme, but got rid of the hook known to hook unwillingly on something and cause problems. It instead made the spikes curved so they could double as the removed hook. It was slightly difficult to wield, but the large, wide spikes provided great possibilities for slashing strikes.

    Trilance-Sruss
    [IMG]
The Trilance was a deadly weapon wielded by both footmen and horseriders. It was less effective for disarming your opponent despite having two large, hook-like blades. These were more effective as "parrying blades". The Trilance, when wielded by a skilled man, could block all enemy attacks, but still slice his hands clean off by sliding the Trilance down the shaft of the opponents weapon during a parry.

    The Scavenger Scythe
    [IMG]
Just a random scythe I put together. My original idea was a scythe made from the scales of some large beast, thus the name "The Scavenger Scythe".

    Armour

    The Holy Cloak
    [IMG]
Left = Male, Right = Female
This is my first try at an armor. It started out as a medieval plate-armor, but slowly evolved into this. I might make some weapons for this set.

    Misc

    Planned Weapons:
    - None, suggestions needed! I'll sprite them within a day!

If anyone needs anything sprited, lets say you have an idea for a helmet, I'll gladly sprite it for you to add in your topic. Just send a PM or ask below.

I think you should try making some gear sets for these weapons. Would be cool seing some medieval armors.

I've kind of strayed away from armor until now because it looks way harder to do than weapons. I'll have to find a model of the human first, but I'll give it a try.

Uploaded my first try at an armor. I made some errors and it has flaws, but I believe I'm getting the hang of it now!

I think you should make some guns.

Why not to do some boot-type accesories like Rocket Boots(classic), Sticky Boots or Spiky Boots("Wall Jumps" forum)?
It shouldn't be too hard, and can be a nice training of details and suggestibility of an item.

I think you should make a light bow that shoot light bolts, it is effective but is harder to aim as it is effected by gravity. The string part should consist of a glowing, yellow string. The stalk should consist of a cool looking technologically advanced hunting bow like thing. Hope you see this, thanks!

  18. Atlaworks

    Atlaworks Subatomic Cosmonaut

They look nice, really. A good addition to these would be a Bec-De-Corbin, or Lucerne Hammer. They're a bit like the halberd is, but instead of an axe blade and thorn on the back, they instead had a hammer and hooked spike respectively. Both that and the halberd are essentially medieval Swiss Army Knives.

The bardiche you made is also more reminescent of a lochaber axe. Ironically, the bardiche is the more axe-shaped of the two.

  19. Jedesis

    Jedesis Ketchup Robot

Good idea! Anyway just a suggestion, since it's Sci-fi they might have to have energy blades like in Star Wars (lightsaber) to tie in you know?

This game is going to be so epic with all the weapons and enslaving penguins, epic o_O
