Weapon damage....seriously?

Okay, so I did the big patch update, got wiped etc. etc. and that is all fine. No worries.
I went back into the game and started again. I gather my minerals etc. and crafted some weapons. All my weapons now showed DPS and damage per swing as they said it would, which is fine. I got to the stage of having the same weapons as before, and they still did a fair bit of damage, but not as much.
All is well up to press I hear you say....until.

I closed the game and went out for an hour or two, came back, loaded up my save and went to kill a creature. Suddenly my iron hunting bow takes 4 to 5 arrows to kill a basic monster. One that in return can two or three hit me.
So what happened between the main patch and now to screw this up?
Has anyone else noticed this issue?

    What gives?

The values for crafted weapons were messed up. They hotfixed it
They were showing DPS values in the thousands. Unless you mean the hotfix, they weakened everything bit too much if I recall.

Well mine weren't in the thousands. Not even near. They ranged from about 6 for the lower level stuff to around 90 for the higher harder to make stuff. And now they are showing from about 3 to 9.....so yeah the higher level swords are showing 7 dps....ACE

Yes thats about right. 90 was absurd on iron gear. If you look around the forums as gear went on the values become silly. I think by tier 3 gear you could one shot EVERYTHING up to threat level 10! equivilant to threat level 100 of the previous system :)

They basically made the game harder.

Think there's a base penetration level and then DPS but instead of the multipliers/penetration levels changing every planet level of it now changes every phase. There should be a multiplier on a phase 4 weapon if you took it to phase 1 monsters for a fight.

Gosh I hope they don't allow you to one shot every mob with that max gear.

To me it looks like they nerfed the weapons too much. My starting sword still has 10 DPS, where as my iron crafted sword has 7, as well as a tier2axe I had found.

no u cant because tier 10 mobs had from 15.000.000 HP to 50.000.000 so weapons with 50k per hit was kind of weak for them , while this monster needed 1 hit to kill u even with last possible tier gear , soo ppl cried too soon now they will cry more because they wont do anything on mobs higher than T4+

Aha fair enough. I have been corrected. Maybe I misread the planet levels :)

Weapons were broken before. They are now working as intended.

If it's taking 4-5 hits for you to kill an enemy, and you're being 1-2 shot, your armor is too weak for that planet's monster level (they're probably at around 7-8 on the old system) and your weapon is too weak as well (you're probably using lvl 3-5 gear and trying to beat higher level monsters).

Simple as that. Look for an easier planet. Or stay on that one for a difficult time, but much higher chance at getting better ore/items.

I've checked lvl 10 planets, and the weapons found in chests deal about 1-1.5k dps, and with those you can 4-5 shot mobs - so about 6-10k HP. Where did you see that mobs would have 15 million (up to 50!!?? lol) HP?
