I'm sure that it has all happened to us at some point in the game. You are on your starting alpha world and you encounter that bonehammer or eye sword. It lasts you those first 2 or 3 sectors... Then what? Your trusty legendary can barely take down that pesky mob. So until you can find another legendary similar to it, what do you do? Keep using that weapon or switch to something with much higher DPS and damage?

I would go for the higher dps and damage weapon, it doesnt matter if a weapon is legendary in one sector, its weak in another and over powered in others
right now even I just use the crafted weapons I made from impervium, forget legendary this is easy to get!

Depends on the type of weapons I can change to because I always choose 2H>All. Legendary isn't that big of a deal to me, the swing speed and DPS is all I look for so I guess I would be swapping out.

Out of the legendarys, the best one so far would have be the Bonehammer.

I found quite an early bone hammer but had to drop it when it did nothing to the enemies. I just used forged weapons until I got coords for a level 10 eyesword and bone hammer.

I ditch the alpha sector bonehammer as soon as I reach Gamma.

Yeah, same here I think. I may have kept it for hitting things through doors though.

Well, what's the point of an expensive knife if it cannot cut butter? There's no use hoarding "legendary" items if they are weaker than a common sword; you are better off giving up on the things you adore, if the things you adore is of absolutely no use to you. Sometimes, it 's better to let go.

I always carry around a bone hammer, but after the first sector it's basically a glorified digging tool, gets rid of large amounts of dirt faster than most pickaxes.

Naturally, the higher sectors' common weapons will outdamage lower legendary weapons; DPS and DPSwing are what you want to keep an eye on. You COULD always go to the higher tier planets and find a more powerful bonehammer there (X-Sector wooooo). 7000+ total damage per swing? Yes pleaseeeee.

Looks like the poll undisputably answers the question. With everyone on the same page, guess nothing more to add.

With everyone knowing exactly where to get a certain weapon, it really seems not to make sense to have this huge universe to explore. This game doesn't seem to make sense without each world being completely randomized. I hope that this is done at some point in the future, although I'm guessing it's not since they said the last character wipe is coming up.

  13. There have been so many times that I've skipped legendary weapons over common counterparts, even in later sectors it becomes apparent that the legendarys are usually under par.

In your case, there is still hope for major changes like you suggested (which now that you mention it, coords to take away from the self exploration which is what its kind of all about). Someone could surely explain it better, but they came up with a new system where they can now implement patches without requiring any further wipes, that new system is what will force the next and final wipe.

sence i always go for a hit and run tatic
i go for damage over DPS
and would like to have a swing of atlest higher then 1.4ish

legendarys have good projectiles so i might get thoses but idk

Thanks for the info. I just assumed it meant that there would be no more major changes which would cause wipes. That's good to know.

Yes, it just doesn't seem like the type of game where it would make sense to know where all the good stuff is at in every world.

best not to tie sentiment to items that come and go.

but for me it would matter what the item's pushback and range is. a number of legendary items have poor DPS on paper, but make up for it by having some shotgun projectile that comes with each swing, plus compound knockback. i've had weak items carry their weight for a long time just because of how good they were at keeping creatures at bay.

I'm going with the strong common ones, since you'll always get a unique design every time you get one.

I think it would be best if legendary weapons are harder to find, BUT, gets stronger once you've unlocked a new star map.
Like if I had a Bone Hammer on the alpha sector, and then traveled to the Beta sector, there's an additional stats added to the item.
