We are an amazing community - let's keep it that way

I think (almost) all of us can agree on the fact that this community is one of the most awesome out there. Almost everyone is nice to each other, the worst arguments are over grammar, the devs get involved in conversation and the moderators are amazing. We all have a general understanding that this game is awesome.
But since this community is only going to grow, and when the game comes out, and becomes very successful, more people will join, and unfortunately, with more people come more trolls. I think that as a community we need to do our best to suppress this, and to keep doing things as greatly as we are now.
That is all, amazing people.

Kidding. I ain't worried about no trolls, though. After the game launches the forums will have a huge influx of people, and you're right in the sense that they won't be the same kind of people that were here previously, but that's not to say that they'll be awful. People just want to use the forums to talk about the game they're playing. Anyone trying to be negative will quickly see that none of the people already here (with post counts! because posts are important!!) will abide their nonsense, and the rest will be like any other noisy, busy little forum-that-could.

 

We must also work just as hard to keep our inner hipsters at bay, since we got here before the game came out.

 

How can we help to support your idea? "I got my rofl- copter ready to go......, let's shoot some trolls!!!!!!!"

 

This, in a more serious sense. I'd be more worried about newcomers not being made to feel welcome simply because they're intruding. Not to be accusatory to this fine group, it's just something that happens when a closed community suddenly takes in a new audience. Then again, I trust y'all to play nice, so again. I ain't worried.

 

I'm just saying we need it to be this way. I don't want to have to retreat to the clan pages to have interesting discussions

 

Yeah we can make a topic on the front of the forum that says newcomer rules.

And I think we should try to stay away from all the "I was here before you, you are inferior" stuff.
That only leads to more problems. I think, if we try hard enough, we'll be able to maintain this healthy state of community.

Well, exactly. . I'm saying that we should try to maintain this low level of trolls even as the community grows.

 

I think we have a great community, its people like you that seem to try and make things average.

 

With every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

You really can't do anything without having someone disagreeing with you. The trolls will come, and I say, bring it on.

 

If it was that simple every other forum would've done it already

Average isn't bad, I'm just saying that this community is pretty much the same as every other small community I've been in
And, just like those communities, when it gets big it's going to fill up with 'trolls', and there's nothing we can do about it

 

The only thing I don't like about these forums is the fan fictions

 

Of my 70 days of lurking, I have also realized that this is one of the best communities out there.
