Way too hard to get ore / heal yourself.

    Title says it all.

Ore. I thought the whole point of durability on pickaxes was to keep people from randomly digging through and to encourage finding visible ore via traversing through caves. Most of the caves are only 10-20 blocks deep. With that it's really hard to find any kind of ore other than copper in order to progress. I've been playing for about 5 hours straight and have found only 5 silver ore.

Healing is too inaccessible. I shouldn't have to carry around a bed and encase myself in stone and then lay in it for what seems like too long after every few encounters. That compounded by the lack of ore makes it harder to progress as I can't get better armor to protect myself. I'm in copper armor on a lvl 3 planet and the mobs in a dungeon are literally 2-shotting me. It doesn't help that they're equipped with assault rifle-like weapons while I've only got a bow and a melee weapon.

Yea the caves aren't caves and the mining of stone takes way to long.. and the not being able to heal urself on the spot gets rather annoying.

There's an item in game called bandages. In order to craft this, you need to have some plant fibres, and to have crafted a spinning wheel. Spinning wheel requires wood planks and is craftable at a crafting table. Once you have the spinning wheel crafted and placed in the world, use it.

You can now craft plant fibres into fabric, and the regular crafting menu (accessed anywhere by hitting 'c') will allow you to craft bandages. Put them in a hot key slot, select that slot, click to use. Done!

As for going to a level 3 planet in copper armour; I'd suggest that you need to take things a bit slower. Get yourself some iron armour first.

In one of the dungeons I found, the mobs dropped stimpaks - three different colours, red, blue and yellow - the red ones gave my character regeneration for a short period of time.

Just because you haven't found it yet doesn't mean it's not in the game.

You didn't spend enough time on your starter planet thats the problem....I found over 256 silver on my current character and he is still on the first planet.....If you rush your advancement your guaranteed to fail and complain.

After spending literal hours on the first planet not getting enough pixels to even make iron armor, I figured I'd try my luck on a different planet.

And just because you got lucky doesn't mean this isn't legit beta feedback. ;)

I'd agree that healing methods need to be a bit more obvious. If nothing else, a simple "make a bandage" tutorial would be nice.

I found getting ores easy. I have like 100 iron bars and 200 copper bars from 2 planets in a lil over an hour. The main issue is how expensive the items are, 250, 500 pixels for one piece of armor? It's ridiculously expensive. Especially as you can't sell items easily. It's a pain to get enough money to make equipment, especially if you die, it can set you back a lot, especially if you already mined out a planet a lot already and getting back to regions that have jars for money can take awhile and is risky..

True enough - consider it me being slightly short-tempered due to the number of very similar sounding posts along the lines of "this game is too hard waaaaaa!" that I've seen recently. A tutorial about bandages would be a smart thing. Now that I come to think of it, I only know about the bandages thing after asking a friend about it. I'd discounted the spinning wheel because it mentions wool into yarn (I assumed I'd have to find some sheep-like creatures or something).

I played around on my starter world and first made copper armor then upgraded to silver armor. This was all on my fist world.
If you haven't already, explore your whole planet. I found a Floran village that contained a copper pickaxe, a bunch of silver bars, and healing items. Also once you get silver armor you can take out the guards at said village and they drop 100 pixels each most of the time.

After I found my first dungeon, pixels stopped being an issue. I didn't completely ransack the place and still came away with around 3-4k in pixels.

The dungeon on my starter planet was an apex facility. Completely devoid of npcs or loot. So maybe that would've made a difference had it been completely implemented. But there was no way for me to get enough pixels to make anything, and none of the caves went deep enough and I was trying to follow the intent of not having to randomly dig everywhere to find ore.

Also look into food -- I found that the burger (human recipe) gives a strong regeneration effect. It's very easy to make, to boot. Two bread and one meat, using the kitchen table. I personally find the methods given to be suitable, but they should be made more obvious. I only found the burger regen by accident and I read about bandages here.

This isn't a game you're meant to marathon through. You've only got 10 threat levels so you've basically jumped through a third of the game after only "hours" of it being in beta.

for healing just get an iron ax and cut down every vine you see

uses the fibers to make bandages

bandages heal 4 blocks of health

Actually he hasn't even done two tenths... threat level 1-10, is still tier one of ten. (There are 100 lvls broken up into 10 tiers.)
So no where near a third of the game.

I think a lot of people seem to think this is meant to be it.. when this we have gotten is just the barest scratch of what will be in the full game. This first part /should/ be easy and not nearly as difficult as people are reporting.

Doesn't mean the beginning should be long. It should get longer once you start getting stuff, so that the bulk is filled with more interesting things. Not the beginning equipment with nothing special or interesting...

Growing Wheat and making Bread also heals you, instantly, for a small amount. Most foods via farming are regenerative, as far as I can tell, and bandages are pretty easy to keep in stock once you realize what you should bee looking for.

I would suggest, however, not drawing conclusions this early on. There's still a lot of stuff to discover.
