You know how if you go underwater and your vision is a bit different? (I'd give more details but I can't quite explain.) Well If your player submerged in water, it should make a screen effect. Not really much of a screen effect, but make it look like a bit of strain on the screen. This effect should be able to be toggled off in the options menu for weaker computers, but having this option on would make underwater environments more "visual."
Also, here's an idea I got from GW2: When you leave water, you get water splats on your screen that slowly drip off. I support your idea though, but judging from the recent water videos, there isn't anything similar to this currently implemented.
As long as its toggleable, so I can decide if I want it or not when I'm actually playing, this sounds wonderful.
Well if you flew out into space and decided to make a planet your home at complete random, you'd probably die too
This. I'm not too sure about the main thing, it'd be kinda cool but I'm kind of used to games with that water dripping effect.
Thats the effect for lava then? You would barely see when you submerge in lava. Death is inevitable unless you have some sort of lava suit. Which I hope for. But then the lava suit would make it possible to see a bit in lava..?
You DON'T see inside lava , with or without special effects. It's like trying to see thru a rock , because that's exactly what lava is.
only way I can think of to see through lava is... possible with a ground penetrating radar system mounted in suit that could tell "lava" and "not lava" apart, separating the world into only 2 block types. this would have the nice side effect of seeing lava through rock when the 'visor' is active.
I think you mean an extreme x-ray Underlava. (Okay that is way better in comparison then saying underwater.)
