Was/is/will Starbound be part of the steam sale

    Okay so with the steam sale going on currently I was wondering if Starbound will be (or was) on sale, I recently got the game and am looking to buy it for friends.

    No. Devs have said nothing to indicate it. It only just came out, it's already at a reduced price with the pre-order and it's already very popular.

    I don't think it will be on sale... if it WAS going on sale it probably would have already unless it plans to be apart of one of the daily sales

    very unlikely. i think a game needs to be finished and out for at least 6-12 months before it would get into a sale. its all down to the game devs though i suppose. the game is quite cheap for the game hours you can get from it (remember paying £30-40 for those high dev games, with 10 hours of gameplay? -.-)

    Tell that to Prison Architect and a number of other Early Access games that have gotten Flash Sales, or even a spot on the daily deals. Granted these tend to be games that have been available on Early Access for quite a while.

    My friend and I discussed this when he was trying to figure out what game he wanted to buy with the $15 he earned from TF2's MvM. It's unlikely due to how new and popular the game is.

    We honestly have no idea how they choose which games to sell. It seems random, though he also said that they tend to put the same games on sale in addition to other games.

    If you want it on sale, then go to steamtrades.com and find someone who will trade TF2 keys for it (5 is a good trade). I got my copy for ~10.35 or so doing this. :D That's like a 30-33% discount. :)
