Warping home.

I find very few people are actually building houses on their home planet, and it isn't a mystery why.
I'm not going to spend 300 (or how much it is now), flying back to my home planet to store things, it takes too much time and energy to do so.

A way to warp to our home planet would be nice, I want to build up a home, but I don't want to keep flying back when I need to use my furnace.

No, could be an abuse way to travel around. You can set any planet as home and then just instantly warp there for free

Why not have a item like the beacon required to be on the plant you want as a home and limit it to one per player if you set down a new one the old one explodes! cause untouch has a good point

I kind of agree with this, I'm hoping that as more content is added and the game is more flushed out, I find myself needing/wanting to stay in an area longer. I got to Beta sector and figured I'd stay there awhile, so I looked around for 20 minutes on the Starmap, found a huge level 11 Forest planet, surrounded by 2 desert planets, 2 arid planets and a snow planet (All within 1 fuel jump of one another.) I began making my home base on the Tl 11 Forest area, not maybe 6 hours later, the home is half finished, and I'm on TL 30 planets wondering why I would ever bother building except to have fun. Don't get me wrong, I realize it's personal choice and preference, but right now it seems like it's a pointless endeavor to make a home planet, easier to just ship stash it all, NPCs are so useless. I made 6 guard spawners and 10 NPC spawners, after 2 nights on the planet, I have 2 village NPCs left, the rest have been slaughtered helplessly (This was in a place with walls, and doors etc mind you.) You have to build a giant one-way wall to save your NPCs, with a roof on it (We lost 2 guards to a single-flying mob, as it two shot them both.) IT feels like a huge waste of resources and pixels to make NPCs right now.

It's beta, I get that and I don't mind that, this is more food for thought for other players, and the devs then any real complaint, I'm still having fun, I just wish building was a more integral part of the game.

Building is one of my biggest interests for this game, but, I don't really want to do it now. As said, going back to your base/city is no casual idea since you got to use a chunk of fuel, wait for the travel, and then travel on back. In games like terraria, this is not an issue because your city will always be on that same map, not too far.

Right now you can already abuse the system by having another user in the home system, since you can beam over there any time. That said, I'd be for a craftable beacon idea. One idea may be that your character can only associate itself with X number of beacons. Start out with being able to link with 1, maybe able to link to more beacons as you progress (+1 per tier?).

One per sector seems like a right fine idea

Pretty sure you need to be on the planet to set it to your home planet.

Something like a beacon that needs to be placed in your home would work.

I would like to have the ability to build stargates to other planets. That way you can place one in your city and one on interesting planets you go to (or have designated for some purpose) and have the ability to warp instantly between them. That way you can build up a city on your home planet and slowly incorporate other places into your ever growing sphere of control.

Agreed. Even if they're expensive or rare and you have to 3D print them, and even if you had to always make linked pairs and only in that way would they work, I would do this. Just means I'd have a huge multi-gate hub on my "home" world.
