Walked into a human prison ... Why do the prisoners have sniper rifles and shot guns

Because they defeated the guards, took their weapons, and realized that the rest of the planet is really unfriendly, so stayed in the prison.

Know what's fun? The ones in the closed-door prison cells won't always open the doors. I made my farm + tree farm between two prison buildings, and I get to watch the prisoners sulk in their cells while I'm out enjoying the sunlight!

 

The question you have to ask yourself is - is the prison even real?

Prison riot, killed all the guards and took over? Wandering vagrant bandits found an abandoned prison and decided to use it as a base? All the guards went insane and ate all the prisoners and put on their clothes?

Who knows, use your imagination.

More importantly, when I kill them why do I get NO gun drop?

 

This game is like X-Files.
You do stuff but everything just... disappears.

 

Why is it that when we kill a person with a broadsword, a spear drops instead? This is but one of the mysteries of the Starbound universe.

 

Humm maybe those aren´t real weapons just some illusion.

Didn't you feel a small yet odd sensation when entering the prison ? like the feeling of Home a place to be... where you will never leave ?

Like a small sting in your neck, and them those... prisoners started coming but they are not your regular kind of inmates no sir, they are your mind trying to protect you from the horrors that wait you in this god forsaken universe, to safe you from the horrid tentacle monsters and mud spiting birds that wait you outside, in act of protecting you, they shoot you they stab you in such form that prints your mind with the need to leave to go Home.

However you feel different you think that Prison is your Home or whats left of it and when you realize the prison never existed and those items you got are pure thrash you garbed while walking.


The prison is your mind those items are just reminders of how quickly you can lose grasp of reality.

 

Just wait when I find a riot shield... Then everything is ready for a rematch!

I would assume that since they're penal colonies, not prisons, there wouldn't be guards and the inmates have weapons to defend themselves against the hostile fauna of the planet the colony's on.

 

or are WE holding the CAGE captive instead of the CAGE holding US captive?

 

I thought the penal colony was humans who were held captive by the apex and the humans took over again and have guns now as part of their rebellion/revolt and now also uses them to defend themselves after overthrowing their past "masters"

 

I can't wait until human settlements are in the game. At the moment we look like a basically extinct species with nothing left but psychotic prisoners and insane soldiers scattered about the galaxy, waiting for the end.
