1. Welcome to the Art + Literature sections! Some things to keep in mind:
    • It's a good idea to specify whether or not you're looking for critique from your fellow members. Please don't let friendly criticism turn into an all-out flame war.
    • Art and literature often deal with mature subjects. This is fine, but please keep in mind that we'd like to keep things PG-13. Don't let discussions get out of hand, and if they do, please alert a moderator.
    • If you've got a request, please use the [REQUEST] prefix!

What do you have software wise, and what do you want to know specifically?

    In fruity loops:
This is the only thing I use other than the mixer and basic effects

    My ways :
    1) Let the song make itself, don't force it to sound a certain way. if it is sounding really good but not how you intended, you have succeed. When that happens that is called 'producing something original to the best of your ability'. If your song has turned out exactly how you intended when going in, you have copied someones song, gaurnteed.

2)Make your own instruments/samples/sounds whenever possible.

3)Don't compare your music to other peoples music or you will just be disappointment as other people will ALWAYS be better at making music than you (By 'you', I mean 'me'. And, by 'me', I mean 'you').

    4) If you cant stand to listen to it but you worked really hard on it, bench it and come back to it in a week. If it doesn't sound good or inspire you to continue working on it then it is a piece of crap. Don't delete it though.

    5) It's all in the mix. (which is my weakness, and why my songs are still lacking)

    6) If you are trying to fit 2 pieces together and you cant get them to jive, the drum track is the most likely problem. Make sure the drums are building up to the change.
