Visible changes on Planet's surface?

I was just thinking, wouldn't it be cool to see some kind of changes if you've been digging or building on the surface of a planet by looking down on it from your space ship in orbit above it?. Eg you build a house and down below you can see a small number of pixels the same colour of the roof, or something. Maybe if you dug a massive fissure or a lake you could see it clearly.

  2. That is like, impossibru! The planet generates one image that you see when you're at your ship. It's something more "cute" to be more immersible.
Now that changes when you start building, etc... It's very complex. It's awesome how it is already. :)

I think this would be awesome, but unfortunately, not very realistic. It would take quite a while to get something like this working, assuming it could even be done - and the game having to keep track of the different visible changes for each and every planet, of which there may be literally thousands... It'd eat a lot of memory for something purely cosmetic.

All that said, still a neat idea.

  4. Yes very strange because we see the planet like "front", in the planet itself is just 2D, doesn't even represent the actual planet, just the Biome > Terrian, that would be some huge tricky thing to add, not really worthing the effort. ^^

    Just a suggestion

Maybe someone might make a mod for it post release.
