In Director Mode, you can place a screen as part of a structure, (Spaceship, HQ...) and select either any Youtube video (I'm trusting the directors here) or maybe another part of the server. As always, suggestions and criticism (of which I get a lot here) are welcome.
yeah saying "bad idea if the directors are corrupt" is like saying "bad idea if the server owners are corrupt"
Why would you want to play on a server with a corrupt owner, though? But, as good as this idea is, copyright laws make this very dangerous and not worth the risk. Hope this helped.
actually they really don't, it is not the Starbound devs fault or problem if people use a video, and even then there is nothing illegal about having a video in game via some sort of hyperlinking by a in-game player. if somebody is making a youtube series then they simply edit out the parts that do, or play on servers that don't allow it. so... basically there is nothing dangerous about it in the slightest.
