let me start by saying that if this idea already exists someplace under a different name then let me know and il kill the thread. in any game with a crafting system, the three coming to mind being minecraft, terreria, and now starbound, one of my personal biggest annoyances is having to craft individual components to a larger project, when i have all the components to all the components. sound confusing? the general idea is this. i want to make a furnace to do so i need to make a campfire why cant i just make the furnace, consuming the things needed to make campfire in the process. it just sounds like a big way to save some time, and wouldnt be hard to code, just add hidden alternate crafting recipies to items.
Definitely agree here. I think the same concept should be applied in armor/tool crafting. One should not have to make a stone pick to make a copper pick, etc.
Agree too. Its a bit annoying when you have to craft a artifical Brain for the Robot Head that you combine with the other parts to make the inactive robot. (Yeah it took me a while to figure that out)
