Hey, I was wondering about how vehicles would work. Would you have them in your inventory and just mount / unmount by one button? Or would you just place it somewhere only to be unlocked by your own key? Something completely different, perhaps? Suggest and discuss the matter! :D

You see.. there's this man in the sky, and people call him V. Hicle. On a special night when all the good little boys and girls are sleeping, he gives them toys! But all the bad people get crushed with falling mechs and boats and such. And that's where vehicles come from. A man in the sky that wants to kill you.

Who knows? We don't have enough information about the game yet to make any guesses.

Weird, I thought it made perfect sense!

OT: My guess is that they will most likely be stationary. But who knows, they might fit in your pocket. I mean, if you can hold multiple weapons in your pockets, why not an entire vehicle?

I'd like them to be stationary, only to be unlocked by your own custom made keys. Some people could make lockpicks or something to try and attempt to open it, but that would enforce griefing, and also, people could make a big square around your vehicle, or dig under it, to be never found again.

Hmm...it might be quite good if you could build garages that would end up being like your ship (i.e. unable to be destroyed (although, in this case, you would be able to destroy it, it's only other people who couldn't)), they would store your vehicles (or a certain amount of vehicles dependent on the size they are (and the size the garage is). As for if people dig under your vehicle so you can't get to it, garages could have a retrieval function (although, obviously if it blew up, you could probably on retrieve the chassis (then it could cost X <enter currency here> and/or X parts to repair it, unless you have an item that allows you to repair it assuming you have the parts). But then again, these are just random ideas that may or may not work.

Awesome ideas, and lol'd at your avatar. :p, I like the repair / retrieval function, maybe that you can repair the vehicle with parts you've collected, or just buy them from an NPC or the garage. I wonder if the spaceship could get destroyed / altered in any way. Would prefer if it wasn't.

Either way, back on topic, I would think that there would be some kind of engineer NPC/crew member included if this system were used (or maybe even if it isn't). This would probably eliminate the necessity to find parts, unless the vehicle had rare parts/rare modifications (assuming you can modify vehicles in this game) and retain the need for money (unless the crew members do things for free, in which case it would only cost if they were a roaming NPC engineer, or if your engineer hated you (although that would also only be if they had some sort of friend point system implemented)).

Although, I suppose that it could just be that you need to find/buy/salvage the parts that you need (or just buy/make/steal a new vehicle). But if there is a repair system, it would probably be quite nice if you could keep broken vehicles for as long as you want (as well as possibly selling them for scrap and getting a certain amount of money based on what is left of the vehicle). Although, it might be quite good if you could salvage destroyed vehicles for parts (presumably with it being random what parts survived).

The main ship may be destroyable, but I suppose that would only happen if you could have space battles, but it would probably prove to be quite problematic due to the fact that if the ship was destroyed, it is unlikely that you could do much, unless the ship, and yourself, just respawned on the previous planet...unless there are places like Mamago's Garage (Beyond Good and Evil) that just tow you to the dock so you can repair your ship (assuming you have enough pearls <enter currency here>).

Mamago garage, you go! When yo mama go go Mamago! also, LOL @ the gif, but back on topic, yes.

Agreed to all of your sayings, and I like the idea of a durability, and being able to pick up your vehicle would be useful. Don't know how though, maybe through a minimizer machine or something : p. Would love to see something like customizating your mech, and to put different weapons and containers on it.

Controlling the main spaceship. *pukes rainbows* Oh yeah. Nice, space battles. Cool for PvP, also.

By the way, the game's currency will be Pixels.

    [EDIT]

Game will most probably not have gear degradation. Oh well. Although I feel like the spaceship should feel like a home, where you will prepare for battle, thus repairing weapons, reloading, modding your weapon, getting your team out and ready, twist the keys on the mechs and so forth. Just saying.
