Every planet that is visited in Starbound has an atmosphere, and every planet has life. So what about barren rocks in space? Plenty of planets lack an atmosphere, and it would bring a lot of potential to the table. Pressurized mechs and E.V.A suits would be necessary to explore these inhabitable landscapes. Buildings would require to be completely built out of a strong material such as metal, and outfitted with oxygen generators, in order to build bases. The moon/planet dungeons could be abandoned Apex research/military bases that were wrecked as a result of explosive decompression, and the enemies inside could be robots/military drones that survived, as they did not need oxygen. There would be tech upgrades and guns as loot from the base, as well as dilapidated and broken furniture and decoration. The rewards would be good, because of the difficulty to get around on the planet, and survive on it as a whole. The only enemies on the planet would be in the facilities, as nothing lives in a total vacuum except those robots. Discuss and tell me your thoughts!

  2. I like the idea of oxygen-less planets that require a spacesuit.

Would you be even allowed to travel to these places without the required items? I feel like this concept needs some idiot proofing somewhere. Y'know so I don't accadentally strand my dumbass on one.

Maybe if you beam down to these moons you would lose oxygen and die quickly?Maybe even the oxygen bar(The one when you're underwater for too long) could go down when your in it

  5. It would tell you in the statistics of the planet in a nice idiot proof bright red.

The capability to land on asteroids could be thrown in with a star-map upgrade. This doesn't make much sense for the early stages of the game. I feel like it could contribute to mid and late game substantially.

Especially if they had lots of rare and valuable metals on it, but would be freezing due to the vaccum and you would require a space suit. Which could have energy and oxygen restrictions so you could mot survive forever. And going back to the base building, you could build one there too. I am also assuming these asteroids are in belts, maybe fragments from the belt hit the surface of the asteroid, which could pose a threat to the player
