This is a idea i have: Lets say you have spent quite some time creating a real badass looking sword. you have gathered the mats by mining and/or fighting bosses/mobs. And after quite a while, you have created an even better weapon. so you dont need your badass looking sword anymore. So you do what comes naturally, you either sell it for some cash, but you dont want to do that becasuse its quite badass looking and you spent some blood, sweat and tears to craft it, or you stuff it in a chest to never see it again. If you are a hoarder. Now here is my suggestion: In stead of either selling or letting it gather dust in chest. You can Slap it up on the wall as a decoration. and how you do this is by creating some hooks from a bar of iron, you get 10-20 hooks per bar, or buy them off an vendor for less that dirt. That way you can make your bases look far more badass too. Besides, you dont really want to throw away something you spent time on making, do you? But wait, there's more! You can also do this to armors and shields. even the pelts of the hapless animals you have gleefully slaughtered. Is this a good idea, or should I die in a fire?
I hope this will make it to the game I would expose all of my old (but still awesome) equipment in my homeworld's base!
Indeed... I would build a HUGE room for all this and decorate it so much that anyone could barely see the walls behind all the stuff.
I wonder, you'll have different sword sizes won't you? So you would probably have to make your house bigger. I can see that creating problems, unfortunately.
Ahh, no problem for me! My house will be a massive fortress on a planet with a very high threat level. EDIT: The threat level on it will be so high that instead of giving a number it will say "YOU MAD BRO!?"
Yey. I made a good suggestion. Its no fun to spend time to crate gear and weapons and only end up trashing it when you have created something better later on, right? Problems? Or Possibilities?
The thing is that they already did this for Terraria. You could use old gear as vanity stuff. I always kept my old mythril set around even when I didn't need it. >w>
I like this idea as well. I like to hoard the cool things I make or find in any game ( ._. You should see my chests in Terraria) and it would be nice to have a way to display things you really liked.
Not as vanity items. I mean that you use your old gear to decorate your base with. you know? Put your gear on display on the walls in your base.
This idea is made of refined, purified, 24-karat gold-plated win. If I make a doom-cannon, and then make an even bigger, doomier doom-cannon, I would love to mount the old one on my wall. Just as a warning to my guests; "Be on your best behavior, because that thing on the wall over there is about half the size and a third of the power of the gun I'm carrying right now."
Not just terraria. My house in morrowind had display mannequins and cases for my old weapons. Batman has old suits form his entire team on display in his lair. Not many people still have swords or shotguns over the mantle IRL anymore, but the idea lives on. It would be ridiculously easy to code in as well, since all the gear already has sprites and tooltips.
this is an amazing idea, i love it! all my swords and stuff from terraria were just in chests stored away that took up space and were never seen or admired again. i would totally LOVE to see this implemented!!
Great idea! It would be nice to make armory with swords and guns on wall and ammunition and other gear in lockers
I think displays that showed your gear would be cool. You could show off your old gear to your friends or maybe even make a shop.
