Upgrading Tech

    I've noticed that you tend to collect/find a lot of tech blueprints that you've already found and used; they become ostensibly useless after you find the first one. So I had an idea. Maybe what you could do is use the blueprint a second, third, fourth time (etc.) and then go back to your tech station and pay pixels in increasing increments per rank to "upgrade" your tech. The upgraded tech would not be functionally any different - however, it would cost less energy to use. Or maybe another way, is that, say, Morphball and Mech tech become useless at higher tiers because they do not deal enough damage - perhaps you could upgrade them to do more damage or provide extra armor or something. Maybe upgrading different aspects of techs would be possible - for example, increasing the speed of Butterfly Boost, or the distance traveled in Energy Dash, or the height of Rocket Jump. Techs could be upgraded endlessly (except in the case of the damage upgrades, for balance reasons) but every upgrade would cost a blueprint of the same tech and exponentially more pixels.

    EDIT: Maybe endless speed upgrades isn't a good idea. But certainly energy cost should be endless upgradeable; that wouldn't strain the game engine in the same way that crossing a planet with a single Energy Dash would. And maybe instead of upgrading per se, you could adjust the stats - increase energy cost for Pulse Jump, but also increase jump height.

    EDIT: Higher tier upgrades would eventually cost multiple tech chips.

    I don't know. Thoughts?

    yea, it could kinda go like a tinkerers workshop from Terraria like you can combine the butterfly boost with pulse jump to get a protective bubble that you can control (of course the energy span would be 4 bars for like 3 seconds of float time)

    I wasn't thinking about combining tech - most techs are pretty powerful on their own.

    It would be nice for certain techs. Think of pulse jump with the height of rocket jump

    It's a suggestion, so unless they devs say so, no.
