With a shuttle, like I said in the first place. :nurudallas:

    a space shuttle?

  3. Kawa

    The "space" was implied.

Well when shuttle is mentioned I think ground based

Shuttle bus, yes. The kind of shuttle that the Space Shuttle, which would go somewhere and come back whole again as opposed to earlier vehicles like the Apollo space rockets, was named after.

The confusion is as understandable as it is amusing. :nuruhappy:

well, i just started a new character after downloading the unstable launcher off steam, so I didn't have the energy dash. and i would rather have my broadsword be able to block than use it to spin around like a madman for 1.5-2 seconds

Not sure if already mentioned, but is the energy dash no longer working in mid-air intentional?

  8. Mackinz

    Yes, it is sadly intentional.

Every planet being inhabited by exclusively hostile creatures is... frankly... making this update impossible for me to play. Every time I stop anywhere to collect resources, some new horror appears before my matter manipulator can finish breaking ground and aggros on me. It's like someone was so excited about the idea of putting touch-damage back into the game, they went and ramped up the spawn rate of monsters and made every monster hostile just to make sure nobody could avoid the combat. Newslfash: I hated it BEFORE I realized that it was making the game unplayable...

... my feelings on the matter have soured even further since.

Seriously? SERIOUSLY!? Holy hell, people... who have you been letting make these decisions?! If you're worried about it not making sense that it was called 'dash', then change the name to IMPULSE BURST or something and leave it be. Don't go and cripple the only damn thing that makes planetary exploration not be a mindless slog.

Oh, no... wait... I get it... this was your 'subtle' attempt to push folks towards vehicles, right?

Maybe you ought to try making vehicles MORE USEFUL, rather than handicapping useful techs, eh?

The idea that it is a balance change to compensate for vehicles is a good point.
I didn't try the vehicles as I couldn't be bothered after playing without dash for a while and being so disheartened by the lack of capturing a cute fox pet.

It's a bad move, I must say. Hover bikes! You'd think they'd be able to maintain the speed of a dash and thus have that big bonus while their fault is dealing with large objects and walls.
It shouldn't be necessary to ruin energy dash. You don't even need to rename it, the "energy" part seems thematic enough.
I'd say there's even some call for making FTL work in the air as the downside is a longer cooldown already.

It also seems they rebalanced armor stats. Now Clokwork set gives MUCH less energy, at least. And my favorite rocket boosts are useless because of it...

Meh. I found the parry to be a nice way to make the broadsword feel like the defensive counterpart to the hammer, but with the weapon reworks it's sort of obvious that the hammer is the weapon of choice for powerhouse types. It was useful, yea, but it's definitely not as useful as some of the better new specials. Some really good ones that immediately come to mind are "Flying Slash" (it makes a shockwave that has a fairly decent range and does good damage), "Giant Blade" (The cool jedi-shulk lazer cover slash that doubles your blade range and always inflicts a status ailment if your weapon allows for it) and "Blink Explosion" (teleport forward, making a fairly large explosion of your weapon's element where you once were). Blink Explosion is actually on Hammers too, but not on spears. Hammers also have one of my favorite skills, "Energy Aura" , which basically makes a wall of status effects around you that not only knocks back, but can do multiple hits. You can also use it as a makeshift light source since it emits about as much light as a torch.

I don't think it was a good idea to make monsters damage you on hit.
I really liked the fact that they had to attack you to hurt you, it made combat a lot more skill based, and gave me the sense that I was actually fighting something.
Granted there SHOULD be some monsters (say monsters that are covered in barbs or acids) that damage you on touch, but I don't think all monsters should do that.

I just realized what the gauntlet means when it says press Q to challenge to a duel.

I just noticed - are we supposed to be able to beam back up from any depth? It kind of felt more realistic that you'd be cut off if you went too far underground.

It's an in-development festure that would have a consumable allow you to teleport up at any depth. It's not finished yet, and still being tested.
